I turned 28.

I remember when I first heard the theory that time is a spiral. I would try to trace the moments folding back onto themselves - the past in front of me, the future behind me. Supposedly, I’ve just completed some karmic cycle. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing, or a bad thing, or even a neutral thing. I guess the whole point of karma is that it evens out in the end.

As life becomes increasingly different, I feel so much more the same. 28 so far feels like 16.

Two years ago, Modern Times Stage Company recognized my work with a recommender grant for PEEPSHOW - a solo piece that explores the similarities between masking behaviour and the red nose.

Since then, I have had wonderful opportunities to develop my Clown under the guidance of John Beale (take his intensive!!), perform many a Peep turn (or.. a “pope” turn), and I will be touring to the East Coast this spring (Shout out Camp Menses).

Arts funding helps make art possible. But beyond the money, there is a body of artists who believed in me and my ideas. For this, I am deeply touched, and humbled, and moved, and only a hint audacious (as Clowns ought to be).

PEEPSHOW is still very much a work in progress, but there is progress nonetheless. Huzzah!

Many, many thanks to @moderntimesstage , the Ontario Arts Council (@ontarioartscouncil), @johnbeale_ , the entire Bitty-Bat fringe team (@bittybatshow), and everyone who ever laughed with me for making this all possible.

imagine this: a year so magnificent that the ~*thought*~ of summing it up proves to be too overwhelming.

2025 -

i am truly, deeply humbled by the opportunities and experiences that were given to me. i feel like one of the luckiest people in the entire world. i wake up every morning with such a profound feeling of love for my life, that it seemingly spills out everywhere i go and with everything i do.

my friends, my collaborators, my directors, my family, my agents(!!!!!???), the people i ramble to at the bar - thank you, thank you, thank you, one million times.

may 2026 bring blessings, health, and joy for us all.
