Machtstrukturen wirken weiter.

Wer ist sichtbar?
Wer steht auf Line-ups?
Wer wird bezahlt — und wer nicht?
Wer erlebt Ausschluss, selbst in einer vermeintlich offenen Szene?

Subkultur wird ästhetisiert und verkauft.
Kommerzialisierung verändert Räume.

Deshalb braucht Techno Bewusstsein.

 BEREKET — Session 03
✨ BEREKET — a space where all colors shine 🥂💕

En:
„Techno was never neutral to me“

It’s not just a beat or a form of escapism —
it emerged from resistance in Detroit, a city shaped by deindustrialization, racial segregation, and economic exclusion.

It was formed by BIPoC communities and queer spaces, by people who were systematically marginalized. FLINTA* artists like K-Hand, DJ Minx, and Stacey Hotwaxx Hale helped build this scene.
But the dancefloor isn’t a neutral space either.
Power structures persist.

Who is visible?
Who gets booked on lineups?
Who gets paid — and who doesn’t?
Who experiences exclusion, even within a supposedly open scene?

Subculture gets aestheticized and sold.
Commercialization transforms spaces.

That’s why techno needs awareness.
Awareness isn’t an add-on — it’s the foundation.
The dancefloor can be more:
a space for connection, visibility, and solidarity.

Techno becomes political when we actively shape it. by @m.oehr
