One of my fav places in Tokyo, Japan - Asakusa 🎐

Exploring Asakusa Tokyo felt like stepping into old-town Japan. From sipping matcha in Tokyo to admiring the iconic Senso-ji Temple and nearby Asakusa Shrine, every corner was full of history and charm.

We visited on a warm, sunny day, making it the perfect time for Tokyo sightseeing. I can’t wait to come back and discover even more things to do in Asakusa!

That feeling of when you've just arrived in Tokyo, starting your first full day ☀️

On day 1 in Tokyo, we explored Asakusa. I really loved Asakusa on our first Japan trip back in September last year, so I really wanted to revisit this area and dive deeper into what it has to offer.

I just love walking along the streets and suddenly spotting Tokyo sky tree peaking through the buildings 🏙

Somehow I can't stop watching the Tokyo Skytree whenever I spot it. There's something symbolic about it that just draws my attention ☁️

First stop in Kamakura: Hasedera Temple 🌿🎐🎋

We've seen many temples during our Japan trip, and this one has to got to be one of my faves! Truly beautiful and calm 🌿

Fun fact: This temple is believed to be over 1,200 years old and is home to one of Japan’s largest wooden Kannon statues.

Love the view from up there too - you can see the ocean from there. It must be even more beautiful on a sunny, clear day ☀️

Did you know if someone says don't think about a blue elephant, you'll immediately picture a blue elephant in your head?

That was my thought when I saw the store's sign in Harajuku 😆

Some billboards were almost blinding me when waiting for the green light - did anyone else feel that way walking around in Tokyo?

Sunset view in Harajuku 🌇

Such a buzzing and lively part of Tokyo! We went up to the “rooftop” for this view, although I can’t lie…I was expecting a slightly nicer rooftop with better photo spots 🤭

Even so, I really enjoyed wandering around Harajuku and soaking up the atmosphere. We also checked out the famous Takeshita Street - so many people, shops, cafés, and endless energy everywhere you look.

Kuromon market diaries 🍵🦀 ☀️

Here’s everything we ate at Kuromon Market in Osaka! The vibe here felt super laid-back - esp compared to Nishiki Market in Kyoto - and many stalls focus on fresh seafood.

We didn’t even plan to eat here, but after stumbling across a live king crab stall, we knew we had to try it. Because honestly… if not in Osaka, then where? 😆

And wow - it was so worth it. My first time trying fresh king crab (and in that quantity), and it did not disappoint.

Vintage vibes, matcha break and hidden gems ☀️

Shimokitazawa is Tokyo’s hub for thrift shopping, indie culture, and artsy cafés - known for its laid-back, bohemian vibe.

From my first stroll in my Onitsuka Tigers 👟 to discovering the cutest sticker shop and a perfect onigiri lunch 🍙, even the curry festival crowds couldn’t take away from the charm of this neighborhood.

Neon lights, humid air, and the smell of street food 🌃

Dotonbori in Osaka is pure sensory overload but somehow still so much fun. Despite the crowds, there’s an energy here that just pulls you in.
The second I stepped away from the buzzing streets, I could finally breathe again ☁️ - that’s when it hit me how intense it actually was navigating through all those people.

Still, the night views hit completely different than during the day, so squeezing through the chaos was 100% worth it 🤭

When you finally see it 🏯

Seeing Osaka Castle had always been on my bucket list, and standing right in front of it felt surreal - it was just as beautiful as I imagined 😍

We explored inside the castle, checked out the museum exhibitions, and made our way up to the observation deck (swipe to see the view) ☀️

I definitely recommend buying your Osaka Castle tickets online - the line is much shorter compared to buying them on-site!
