Thank you to @aliaskar______abarkas for inviting me to contribute toward To Recite - a newspaper bringing together reflections on sound, memory and faith.

You can pick up a copy at @whitechapelgallery.

It personally gave me the opportunity to reflect on my relationship with Shaykh Umar. A true guide to me and so many others (including a reference in @bluemistplay)

CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 🌫️
Meet the boys of BLUE MIST.

@_yxng_aladdin, Omar Bynon, @azanahmed__

📍 @leedsplayhouse @stratford_east @pborokeytheatre @therepbirmingham @curve_leicester

📆 17 June - 30 July

Olivier Award-nominated. “A must see”.

Chunkyz Shisha Lounge is home away from home for Jihad, Rashid and Asif, a space where community whispers are heard, jokes are shared, and new hustles are born.

When aspiring journalist Jihad wins the chance to make his own documentary, he sets out to give voice to his community and challenge the usual stereotypes that fill the airwaves. But in a media landscape that profits off fear, how far can one voice really go?

Blue Mist is a sharp, darkly funny story about truth, trust and ambition. Written by Mohamed-Zain Dada and directed by Milli Bhatia, the award winning duo behind critically acclaimed SPEED @bushtheatre . @m.zain.dada @millibh

An overdue photo dump from Blue Mist 2023 to celebrate the fact that Blue Mist 2026 @bluemistplay is going on a national tour this summer. We’ve also got a crowd funder going to help us run workshops for young people in every city we tour to, link in my bio. 🔵💨 by @m.zain.dada
