From rearranging furniture as a kid to opening a Design Studio where I get to design dream spaces and leave a creative mark on this world. The journey hasn’t always been easy but damn was it worth while.

Thank you @sdvoyager for this feature and helping spread a little Moxie around the neighborhood. Truly a pinch me moment.

Heavily counting the days until fall begins. Until then we’ll just be here dreaming of this cozy corner. Don’t mind us…🌥️

Moxie Edit: This industry is a machine. It demands everything from you your time, your creativity, your sanity. You survive it by leaning on the people who get it. The ones who’ve walked the same path, who understand the weight of it.

I wouldn’t be half the designer I am today without Kitchy. Her artistry, her vision, the way she moves through this work it’s shaped how I see design. But more than that, she’s shown me what it means to stay true to yourself in an industry that’s always trying to push you somewhere else.

This Interview is for the people who hold you up. For the ones you learn from, build with, and grow alongside. The future of this field isn’t about competition it’s about the network we build together.

Thank you for everything, Kitchy. 🤍

You can’t spell Architecture without Art.

Moxie Design Studio is visiting Japan this week for a quick breather and collecting new inspiration for the studio!

We got to visit Kyoto’s Garden of Fine Arts and it did not disappoint. Tadao Ando designed this garden not to house art, but to let it breathe. Nature as the frame. Space as the experience. Water instead of floors, sky instead of ceilings Concrete walls - not to mention a 47 foot display of a replica of Michelangelo’s Last Judgment. INSANE!! It’s a full sensory argument for what great spatial design can do. Taking all of this inspiration back to the studio.✌🏻

The neighborhood just got a whole lot spicier.🌶️

Last year we got to switch gears and work on a fun Hospitality project. Like many projects this restaurant began with a clear vision, but design always has a way of evolving through real-time decisions during construction: Materials shift, details adjust, and priorities refine along the way.

And while there are still future phases we’d love to bring to life, we’re taking a moment to appreciate where it is today. It’s open and it’s being experienced exactly as it should be.

Design is never static. It’s a process, and we’re in it for the long game.

If you are in the San diego area we encourage you to try the authentic flavors of Smokey Habanero!!

MOXIE EDIT: DESIGN OF THE WEEK

Scout Willis’s home in Hollywood. This charming, whimsical home is exactly what excites us about Design. From preserving the groin-vaulted ceiling to every intentional layering of color and craftsmanship. We are obsessed!!

This is what design is all about. Where you move with the existing unique architecture then cast a spell with all the layers of color, texture, materials and blending of past times to completely captivate you. We hope you enjoy this inspiration as much as we did.✨
