YOUR INAUGURAL M21 WOMEN’S CASH CUP CHAMPIONS

@asfordbyladies_1st “A”

History has been made.

After months of preparation and a day filled with elite competition, Asfordby “A” have become the first team to lift the M21 Women’s Cash Cup.

In a tournament packed with quality, they rose to every challenge. Composed under pressure, ruthless when it mattered, and backed by a defence and goalkeeper that set the standard throughout the competition.

Their journey culminated in a fiercely contested final against Dunton & Broughton “B”, where the finest margins decided the outcome. One decisive moment. One championship-winning penalty. One place in M21 history.

When the dust settles and future champions are crowned, one thing will remain unchanged:

Asfordby “A” will forever be the first.

🏆 Champions.
🥇 History Makers.

🏆 YOUR INAUGURAL M21 MEN’S CASH CUP CHAMPIONS 🏆

@cfhillside

Champions are defined by how they respond when the pressure is at its highest.

After battling through a difficult group and only just securing their place in the knockout stages, Hillside found another level. When the tournament entered its defining moments, they turned it up a gear.

From the quarter-finals onwards, they played with confidence, quality and belief, overcoming every challenge in their path before producing a championship-winning performance in the final against @eminent.fc

It wasn’t the easiest route to the trophy, but perhaps that’s what makes it even more special. They earned every step of the journey.

🏆 M21 Men’s Cash Cup Champions 2026.
🔥 Peaked when it mattered most.
📖 The first names etched into M21 history.

Congratulations to every player, coach and supporter who made this achievement possible. The first-ever M21 Men’s Cash Cup belongs to Hillside —and no one can ever take that away. by @m21events

THE RULES HAVE EVOLVED.

For 2027, we’ve made three key changes to the M21 Cash Cup — all designed to push the format further and create the kind of football we want M21 to be known for.

⏱️ M21 TIME — NOW EVERY GAME

Last year, M21 Time only came into play if a game was level after 15 minutes.

This year, every game enters M21 Time.

We’ve also evolved from Golden Goal to Target Score. Rather than teams sitting in and playing for the next goal, Target Score keeps the game progressive and rewards teams willing to attack, take risks and create.

5v5 → 4v4 → 3v3 → 2v2 → 1v1

More space. More pressure. More opportunity for flair.

🚩 5 CORNERS

By popular demand, the 3-corner penalty has been increased to 5 corners.

🟦 BLUE CARD

A small change with a big impact.

Last year, receiving a Blue Card meant your team had to play a player down until conceding a goal before the player could be replaced.

For 2027, the player can now be immediately replaced, meaning the game stays competitive without removing the consequence of the Blue Card.

M21 was never designed to be just another 5-a-side tournament.

We want progressive football.
We want attacking football.
We want flair.
We want something different.

So we’ll keep evolving.

2027 M21 CASH CUP.

More attacking. More expressive. More M21. 🏆 by @m21events

🏆 MOST VALUABLE PLAYER 🏆

Congratulations to Declyn Duggan of Eminent FC on being named the Most Valuable Player of the M21 Men’s Cash Cup 2026.

Selected by the tournament’s referees, Declyn’s performances between the posts stood out above the rest. An outstanding goalkeeper throughout the day, he produced countless crucial saves, commanded his area with confidence, and was a major reason behind Eminent FC’s success.

Consistently delivering when it mattered most, Declyn’s impact was impossible to ignore, earning him the tournament’s highest individual honour through the officials’ vote.

A thoroughly deserved winner. Congratulations, Declyn! 👏

⚽ TOP GOALSCORER ⚽️

Mcloyd Oben of Hillside claims the Golden Boot after an outstanding tournament, finishing with an incredible 8 goals.

Clinical in front of goal and a constant threat every time he stepped onto the pitch, Mcloyd’s finishing played a huge role in Hillside’s impressive run and earned him the title of M21 Men’s Cash Cup Top Goalscorer.

His achievement goes beyond this year’s tournament. With these eight goals, Mcloyd now stands alone as the all-time leading goalscorer in M21 Cash Cup history. The closest anyone has come is Zara Kirk, who netted an impressive 7 goals in the Women’s Cash Cup, making Mcloyd’s record even more remarkable.

The question now is… can Mcloyd extend his record next year, or will someone finally rise to challenge the benchmark?

Congratulations, Mcloyd, on a truly exceptional tournament. 👏

🧤 GOLDEN GLOVE WINNER 🧤

Congratulations to Elliot Harbin of M21 FC on winning the Golden Glove at the M21 Men’s Cash Cup 2026.

Producing outstanding saves throughout the tournament and making crucial interventions whenever his side needed him, Elliot was a commanding presence between the posts from start to finish.

His performances were so impressive that he even edged out our MVP in the voting for this award — a testament to just how influential he was across the day.

A thoroughly deserved winner. 👏 taken in Dunton and Broughton Football Club by @m21events

🏆 M21 WOMEN’S CASH CUP FINAL 🏆

⚔️ Asfordby “A” vs Dunton & Broughton “B”

After battling through a hugely competitive field, it all came down to one final showdown.

A rematch of a group-stage fixture, both teams knew exactly what was at stake and neither side was willing to give an inch.

The quality on display was exceptional. Chances came and went, tackles flew in, and both goalkeepers produced outstanding performances to keep the scores level. Save after save had spectators wondering if the final was destined for yet another dramatic spell of M21 Time.

Then came the defining moment.

With time running out, Asfordby “A” were awarded a penalty. With the weight of the tournament resting on one kick, the spot kick was calmly slotted home to give Asfordby the lead.

DBU “B” continued to push until the final whistle, but Asfordby held firm to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory.

🏆 The result crowned Asfordby “A” as the first-ever M21 Women’s Cash Cup Champions.

A fantastic final between two outstanding teams and a fitting end to an unforgettable tournament.

👏 Congratulations to both finalists.

🏆 THE ROAD TO THE FINAL 🏆

The knockout stages certainly didn’t disappoint.

⚔️ Semi Final 1
Dunton & Broughton “A” vs Dunton & Broughton “B”

A tense all-DBU affair that finished 1-1 after normal time and headed into M21 Time.

As player after player left the field, neither side could find a breakthrough. The drama continued all the way down to a 1v1 showdown. With everything on the line, DBU “B” won possession on the counter, beat their opponent and fired an unstoppable strike into the top corner to book their place in the final.

🔥 Semi Final 2
Hinckley vs Asfordby “A”

Hinckley started brightly, with captain Bex Clarke denied from close range by eventual MVP and Golden Glove winner Holly Mayfield.

However, Asfordby soon found their rhythm and took the lead before producing a composed and professional display. A second goal late on sealed a 2-0 victory and a place in the final. by @m21events

⚽ TOP GOALSCORER ⚽

Zara Kirk of DBU “A” takes home the Golden Boot after finishing the tournament with an incredible 7 goals.

Clinical in front of goal and a constant threat throughout the day, Zara’s finishing helped power her side through the competition and earned her the title of M21 Women’s Cash Cup Top Goalscorer.

Even more impressively, Zara now stands alone as the all-time M21 Cash Cup record goalscorer, setting the benchmark for future tournaments.

The question is… will Zara add to her tally next year, or will someone rise to challenge the record?

👏 Congratulations Zara on an outstanding tournament.

🧤 GOLDEN GLOVE WINNER 🧤

Congratulations to Holly Mayfield of Asfordby “A” on winning the Golden Glove at the M21 Women’s Cash Cup 2026.

Producing outstanding saves and consistently delivering when her team needed her most, Holly was a standout performer between the posts throughout the day.

🛡️ BEST DEFENDER 🛡️

A commanding presence at the back throughout the tournament.

Congratulations to Molly Carter of DBU “B” on being named Best Defender of the M21 Women’s Cash Cup 2026.

Strong in the tackle, composed on the ball and a key part of her side’s success all day long.

👏 Congratulations Molly!

🚀 GOAL OF THE TOURNAMENT 🚀

Some goals win matches. Some goals win awards. This one did both.

With the game locked at 2-2 in a gruelling battle during M21 Time, it looked as though nothing could separate the two sides.

Then, in a moment nobody saw coming, Asfordby “B” goalkeeper collected the ball inside her own half, looked up, and unleashed an audacious strike from around the halfway line that flew over everyone and nestled into the top right-hand corner.

A goal worthy of winning any game — and an easy choice for Goal of the Tournament at the M21 Women’s Cash Cup 2026.
