I’d like to take this time to say thank you to all of my coaches, family, and friends who have supported me through my 16 years of hockey. I couldn’t have done it without any of you. Thank you for giving me memories that I will never forget and friends I will always have. The good times really go by fast. #22 signing out by @m22schmidt

🚨 PLAYER SPOTLIGHT 🚨

Introducing Align Hockey client Michael Schmidt, an ’07 right-shot defenseman from Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

Michael played for the league champion Granite City Lumberjacks (NA3HL) during the 2025–26 season, recording 1 goal and 14 assists for 15 points in 35 games. He has returned to Granite City as he prepares for the upcoming season.

At 6’4”, 185 lbs, Michael is a mobile, two-way defenseman who brings size and skill to the blue line. He skates well, handles the puck with confidence, and makes smart, composed plays under pressure. His ability to move pucks efficiently, contribute in transition, and jump into the offense allows him to create from the back end while remaining effective in all three zones.

A right-shot defenseman with plenty of room to continue developing, Michael is focused on taking another step forward this season as he works toward his goal of playing college hockey.

We’re excited to be part of Michael’s journey and look forward to watching his continued development and progress this season.
