HUD - Head Up Display, is like augmented reality for the pilot. It helps to combine essential information like aircraft attitude, airspeed, altitude, trajectory (bird, or FPV), and many other secondary data sets, to improve the flight deck crew situation awareness but also enhance precision when manually flying, as the scale in the HUD is greatly expanded, when compared to the PFD.

Think you need a flight computer, E6B, or calculator to figure out accurately your wind components and drift angles? No you don't.
I can show you how, with workable results in seconds.

Today's example are related to wind direction, angles, and components. For this, traditional geometry teaches Pythagoras, with the use of squares and square roots (² and √). Well, I ain't got no time for this when I'm flying my airplane and turning final on an approach! 😅

Of course, there's a simpler way. In fact, it's so simple, it should be taught on the first day of a pilot training course.

Theory is what you need to get through your exams, as a token that you have understood the concepts and mathematical relationships between various elements. But it won't show you how to work numbers in real time. No pilot wants to pull out a calculator while flying, yet we all need fast, workable results that we can apply right when we need it.

M3 is what you need to free yourself from the calculator and focus on what matters most: flying your aircraft.

I couldn't believe my eyes, when I spotted this ATR –or what's left of it, only 10 minutes from my homebase in France. I spent a few years growing up in Africa, and returned to gain experience (crop-spraying and funding for my commercial license). After getting my CPL-ME-IR, I went back to Gabon 🇬🇦, Congo 🇨🇩, and other places in West, Central, and Southern Africa. This particular aircraft used to belong to the Gabon Presidential Guard. I remember seeing it when flying in or out of Libreville. What can this be doing now in the middle of the French Southwest countryside? by @m3.pilot

This was a special moment in my professional life. For one part, becoming an instructor and examiner for Airbus as a manufacturer pilot. For another part, I had the privilege to train Emirates crew upon delivery of their very first A350, and by the same account, building new friendships with the incredibly talented flight instructors at Emirates. All years of hard work and dedication are summarized in this short clip. Thank you Alain for an incredible day flying one of the best aircraft in the world ✈️💫
