Lucy
May 2024
Directed by @sophsand17
Role: Actor

omg, how fun Lucy was!! sooooo much Love on this set🫰we filmed it in Wichita after the semester ended so it was like a fun little film getaway! i got to meet so many talented actors and filmmakers and got closer with those who i knew already! i also got a taste of acting for the camera which was soooo fun and educational. i actually was supposed to crew for Lucy, but there was a voice in the back of my mind that kept telling me to audition, so i did! thank you Sophie for hosting everything at your freaking house and being an amazing screenwriter and director!! <3

GHOSTHUNTERZ
April 2024
Directed by @madison.torrez (me!)
Roles: Director and Editor
Class: FMS 275 Basic Video Production
-
hooooooly crap i should have posted this 2 months ago but here we are late and proud anyway!! GHOSTHUNTERZ was such a blast. it was my first time fully directing something and i loooooved it and am so proud of myself and everyone who worked on it!! i am so so grateful to have met the people in my group who shared the same strong vision as me and executed it perfectly!!! our crew was unstoppable <3 and our actors were on it every single time 💪 when everyone on set shares the vision and is 100% in it, it makes for such an amazing environment where ideas can just absolutely flourish while having the time of our lives. thank you to everyone who helped out along the way!!! it truly could not have been made without all who pitched in.
to all who want a short hook: GHOSTHUNTERZ is a spoof/parody of ghost hunting shows like Ghost Adventures. (i used to watch the show all the time with my mom so it almost serves as an homage to those memories). also @dthompson_23 absolutely KILLED it with the script for this. i can’t remember whose idea this was first, i remember us talking about the pitch for this and it was like we had the same brain. where my words failed, darwyn wrote amazing dialogue and bits. also shoutout to my guy @jensie_ ! he created the spooooky design used throughout and we also may have made some hats bc they look too cool 🤭 he will be missed dearly. he’s not dead, he’s just back in the netherlands. let’s freaking go ghosthunterz!! by @m4dis0ncore

Inner Thoughts
April 2024
Directed by @brooke_bennett23
Role: 2nd AC

From the moment I read the script for Inner Thoughts I was so so excited to be a part of it and watch it come together!! It’s so wholesome and heartwarming! <3 Everyone on set was so kind and such a joy to be around. I also got to learn a lot about the camera department from @ruschfilm and even got to run the NUCLEUS!! 🦅🦅🦅 I’m so grateful to have been a part of this project! taken in Henry's Upstairs by @m4dis0ncore

Fawnsphere
March 2024
Directed by @_emilyrupert
Role: Sound Op
Class: FMS 275 Basic Video Production

What an amazing opportunity this project was!! Getting to meet and work with @fawnsphere was such an informative experience. It was also the first big project my group in FMS 275 did together and it all went so smoothly! Also, getting to sound op was amazing because I got to hear Van’s music live, directly in my ears! I swear I started ascending, it was so beautiful 🥺 I really enjoyed running sound for this project and am interested in trying it again in the future! by @m4dis0ncore

@kuscrambledeggs Sketches
Mouth Full & Writers’ Room

Mouth Full
February 2024
Directed by @jack__kennedy__ and @unofficialrylieparr
Role: Editor

Mouth Full was such a pleasure to be a part of! It was the most impossible try not to laugh challenge ever while filming Jack with the spaghetti, like I had to physically hold my mouth shut. I guess you could say our MOUTHS were FULL of LAUGHTER!!! HA! … anyways. Editing Mouth Full had its challenges especially with having to edit it while filming Cheers! at the same time but we are goated and got it done on time

Writers’ Room
March 2024
Directed by @jackbugee
Role: Cam Op

Writers’ Room was also so so fun to make. I remember reading the script before filming and it making me laugh out loud just by myself lol. Some of my favorite things to make are absurd sketches and to get to collaborate with so many funny people heals my soul!!!

‼️
((p.s. !!! if you want to watch these hilarious sketches, they are on @KUSketchComedy on YouTube!) by @m4dis0ncore

FRESHMAN YEAR SET ROUNDUP! 🤠
-
Ransom
September 2023
Directed by @t4ylorthompson
Role: Grip
-
Ransom was my first set ever!! I had so much fun and learned SO MUCH! Ransom was also my first sign that KU film was the right place for me. Coming from a theatre world, I was worried that film would be different from the embracing environment I’ve known, but I was so wrong. I want to thank Taylor for allowing me to be on set as a complete stranger newbie!! Everyone was so so welcoming and inviting and I’m so grateful for everyone’s kindness.
-
(Also I’m so so late for posting this but that’s because im posting all of the sets i worked on this year at once so brace for impact🫰) by @m4dis0ncore

the moment everyone has been waiting for is finally here!!

if you’re new around here or simply forgot, me and my friends like to make silly little short films and this winter break we made our long awaited next installment: Christmas is Candy. it is TRULY a crazy step up in quality (due to a couple of us getting at least a semester of film school in and upgrading to an ACTUAL editing software).
i would LOVE for anyone who watched our old ones to come to our little premiere! (jan 28 7pm in Lawrence) if you can’t make it, don’t worry because it’ll be going up on our (NEW) youtube channel (Meep’s Musical Studios) at the same time!! i’ll link the playlist in my bio if you are curious and want to watch our old ones! they are only about 5 mins long so no time commitment at all (except for this new one... 😈)
i think it should be said that this installment is a big deal because Christmas is Candy has been forbode since our first Candy video! it’s also been in the making for
MONTHS and we have all learned so much!!!
thank you so much to everyone who helped out!!! so excited to put my “first short film” in the books! 🎉 taken in Candy World by @m4dis0ncore
