You might think it’s hard to measure the impact that a 10 pound dog can have on someone. But with Stella, it has been quite easy.

For starters, the fire/fireplace at my parents house was notorious for scaring her, and there was one spot in the house she felt comfortable. She would run up to my bedroom door and push on it with all her force, until I would open the door, and see 2 giant glossy eyes looking up at me. And she would spend the night huddled away with me until the fire was out. It was our unspoken agreement, (literally). For as long as I can remember, from the time I played little league until the day I packed up and moved to Chicago, Stella was there.

Some people might not understand it, and that’s okay. But for me, Stella was more than a pet, she was my best friend. Every bad day, every panic attack, every moment of stagnation, she was there to make it seem not so bad. In my absolute darkest moments, Stella was there at the door begging to be picked up. How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard?

Every person that has entered my life, has enjoyed her presence. I’m happy to know that she has brought smiles to so many people in my families lives.

I had the pleasure of loving you for your whole life and I’ll miss you for the rest of mine.
