“The Guardian”
5x7” acrylic on board

I was so surprised and felt very honored when I learned that this little beauty placed First in the acrylic category in the adult division, received a Special Award for best overall acrylic, and Champion (second place in the Best in Show Category) at the 2026 Elko County Fair 💙💚💜

Many thanks to all the judges and volunteers ☺️

I have no idea why the second pic is cropped all weird 🤷🏼‍♀️ by @m_hager_art

The piece pictured is by Emily Silver. We had a very enjoyable evening at the Artist Reception for her, at the Northeastern Nevada Museum, last night.
She has such an interesting process and incredible passion for her work.
If you get a chance to go view it, it’s well worth it.
Also, she and several other of us will be painting Plein Air at the Powerhouse Campground tomorrow from 10-12. Come say “hi” ☺️ by @m_hager_art

One of my goals, this year, was to enter a competition for the very first time.
I submitted my latest watercolor (Actually, I entered two pieces, but I can’t show you the other one yet 😉).
I am incredibly honored to share that she received both a First Place and a Special Award!
Thank you to the judges and volunteers that made the show possible ☺️ by @m_hager_art

In case I was wondering why I might be tired, the last few months have been a bit full. Full of travels & adventures: Museum Art Show, Pottery Class, Salt Lake City, Park city, Midway Plein Air Festival, America 250 Dedication, Reno, Art in the Park, Pastel Painting Demo, Columbia River & the Art Festival, Pottery Class again, Plein Air Class with Geoff Allen, and don’t forget to sprinkle in teaching a few mandala classes, Runnamucca, and a tattooo! Oh, yeah, I’m headed to Reno & Tahoe tomorrow! And, then… by @m_hager_art

When ya only have one more “Treat Yo’Self” square left on your bingo card, and you’ve gone and bought yourself a lil’ early birthday gift, AAAAAAAND you’re wondering if that purchase used up said final bingo square… who ya gonna call to tell you, “Oh no, no. You’re good. It’s fine. A birthday gift is one thing. The bingo card is entirely another!” ????

☎️ “Hello, Son…” ❤️😂
