Dragged the boys to the PSU Japanese Tea Club's tea ceremony in the basement of Ritenour Building last night. It was one of those moments when you fall in love with university life all over again... matcha in raku-fired Japanese tea bowls on a Thursday night in Central PA - right after Mount Nittany 7th Grade Boys defeated their arch rivals, Park Forest, in soccer.

The club's HQ and collection of tea utensils is amazing. I'll go back for a Chinese tea soon. by @m_w_five

Got in to Dallas this morning at 1:30 courtesy of American Airlines. Later this morning the question is, can we get out of Dallas? The first delay of our flight just hit the boards. Maybe we'll be around for lunch at Dickey's. Still better than Santa Fe to LA, red eye to Philly, and then a puddle jumper to U Park. In AA hell. by @m_w_five

🎉 2026 marks the 125th anniversary of the birth of Konrad Wachsmann (1901–1980), a pioneer of prefabricated building systems whose ideas anticipated the future of architectural construction.

🤖 In 1969, Wachsmann, John Bollinger, and Xavier Mendoza developed the Local Orientation Manipulator (LOM), a visionary machine designed to position and orient building components freely in space. Decades before robotic fabrication became commonplace, the LOM brought together architecture, engineering, and emerging automation technologies.

📖 Based on new research, this richly illustrated new book investigates the mysterious LOM, places it within Wachsmann’s pioneering work, and documents its reconstruction through images and simulations.

Now available through the link in our bio ☝
