Once you’ve seen it, you can’t unsee it.

A glimpse into IRONIKA (or about a deca-dance)—the sequel to HYSTERICA.

A chthonic, carnivalesque afterparty where human and non-human bodies awaken, dissolve and melt into a single grotesque organism.

Created through my collaboration with the magical Francesca Kezich and brought to unstable life by Quantum Body Athens Butoh Dance Group and an entire constellation of independent artists.

Something is still vibrating beneath the ground of Athens.

Bass binaural frequencies hypnotize the breath.

The queer living room of your dreams has come to life: warm clothes and hairy surfaces, a hot pot by the fireplace, freshly baked tender bites.
Inebriating scents and a raw-delicate sound journey paint the fairytale.

Ironika (or about a deca-dance)
A tableau vivant that happened at Bageion Hotel in Athens, springtime.
In collaboration with the butoh crew @quantum_body

Here some close ups on the precious documentation by @drmdls_ and @ta.podia

After a night of unbridled dances and bittersweet dreams here we are facing into a timeless dimension where everything – humans and non humans - is slowly melting in a primordial but shiny organism. The Dionysian feast of the night is gently diluted in a baroque living room inhabited by the survivors of the party who now appear as chthonic creatures. The echo of nocturnal euphoria lingers over all things and makes the figures slowly awaken like fragile newborn embryos. All the remnants of
the night now gleam laughingly and sprout in space. The living room is here a beach teeming with mythological bodies, half human and half animal. Is the transformation into an animal punishment or salvation? The picture that appears is a composition and decomposition of bodies that finally reveal their own matter.
Dense with lost but provocative glances, the muddy atmosphere is vibrant with the
irony needed to survive the aftermath and impending nihilism of an increasingly
deserted contemporaneity. Irony is the bittersweet afterparty flavour, a liminal
and tragicomic situation where everything is blissfully abandoned to itself. The
narrative disentangles itself from logical sense to invent a new one. In this decadent circus, actors and spectators are tightrope walkers balancing on the paradox between life and death. Irony is in fact a co-presence of opposites, a dissolution of the tragic and the comic into a single grotesque body.
