WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS… doesn’t always stay in Vegas. 💍

Two months ago, while on our USA roadtrip, we secretly got married in Las Vegas. It was just the two of us, and a whole lot of love. ❤️

This past Saturday, we invited everyone over for what they thought was a “birthday party” in our garden. Instead, it turned into our wedding celebration. Country style, under the lights, surrounded by a small group of family and friends, laughter, music and a whole lot of love ❤️

From the Vegas desert to our lovely home. We couldn’t have imagined it any better. ❤️

USA & CANADA ROADTRIP — DAY 4 🇺🇸🇨🇦

A 14-hour drive, wildfires, Yellowstone at sunset… and two very unexpected encounters. 🐻

After three days in Vegas, we were ready for something completely different. Vegas is great, but after a few days it was time for nature, open roads and a bit more peace and quiet. 😂

So we packed up and started the long drive back to Yellowstone National Park. It was our favorite place from last year’s road trip. It’s so freaking huge, and there’s so much to see that going back felt like an easy decision.

We passed wildfires along the way and eventually entered Yellowstone through West Yellowstone, driving all the way through the park towards Cooke City, where we’d stay for the coming days.

By the time we got into the park, we were absolutely exhausted. Then, somewhere along the road, things got interesting. First we saw a black bear and after that, a GRIZZLY BEAR! 🐻😍

It was such an amazing encounter. So happy I brought my 200-600mm telelens so I could really zoom in to get a clear shot! After 14 hours behind the wheel, I don’t think we could have asked for a better welcome back to Yellowstone.

USA & CANADA ROADTRIP — DAY 3 🇺🇸🇨🇦

On the third day, we visited Hoover Dam. It’s one of those places that makes you feel very, very small.

Just outside Las Vegas, the dam stands 726 feet (221 m) high across the Colorado River, holding back Lake Mead. Built between 1931 and 1936, it was an incredible engineering project for its time. It still supplies water and generates hydroelectric power for the Southwest today.

Seeing it in person also makes the current water situation feel a lot more real. Years of drought have pushed Lake Mead to much lower levels, and the lower the lake gets, the harder it becomes for Hoover Dam to generate electricity efficiently.

Standing there next to something this massive was pretty surreal.

Later that evening we headed back into Las Vegas, but this time to Fremont Street, the older, more vintage side of Vegas. 🎲

It feels completely different from the Strip. A little rougher around the edges, much more old-school Vegas, and honestly, I really liked that side of the city.

Hoover Dam by day, old Vegas by night. 🎲

MEET OUR NEWEST MEMBER OF THE FAMILY 🐶

Meet Pippa, a 10-year-old mix of a Newfoundland dog and a Golden Retriever. 🥰

After we got back from our trip, we decided to adopt her. Her previous owner had to move into a retirement home and unfortunately couldn’t take her along.

The past two weeks have been all about getting her comfortable and settled in, and she’s been doing so well.

She’s already turned out to be the sweetest girl. ❤️

So yeah… meet Pippa. I have a feeling you’ll be seeing a lot more of her around here. taken in Lier, Belgium by @maartenvda

USA & CANADA ROADTRIP — DAY 2 🇺🇸🇨🇦

I’ve always wanted a real Stetson hat. Ever since I was a little boy, I did. Getting one was definitely on the list for this trip. 🤠

We started the day slow with breakfast at Cracker Barrel, then headed to Bass Pro Shops. This is ABSOLUTELY my favorite store in the US. We bought our first souvenir for Pippa, our dog that we would adopt once we would get back home 🐶🦬

After that we stopped at Boot Barn, and there it was: a Stetson Skyline. The one I’d been looking for.

Finally got it. Pretty happy with that one. 😅

The rest of the day was easy-going. Little bit of hanging by the pool underneath the Eifel Tower ( LOL), since it was 49 degrees Celcius. Afterwards, we headed to the Las Vegas Strip l for a first proper look around.

A relaxed day in Vegas to get things started 🥰

USA & CANADA ROADTRIP — DAY 1 🇺🇸🇨🇦

Touchdown in Las Vegas. 🎰

After a 10jour flight, we landed at Harry Reid International Airport around 8pm, picked up the rental car and headed straight for the first important stop of the trip: In-N-Out Burger. 🍔 @innout

After grabbing some food, we checked into Paris Las Vegas and went out for a quick first glimpse of the Las Vegas Strip.

Back at the hotel shortly after, we took in the view and went straight to bed. After all, we had a big USA & Canada road trip ahead of us 🌅

And this was just the beginning.

Back home from an amazing month exploring the American Northwest and the Canadian Rockies 🇺🇸🇨🇦

We had such an incredible time chasing views, seeing epic wildlife, exploring new places, meeting great people and spending all of our time in the great outdoors. 🍂 🐻

Stoked to finally start sharing some of the photos and videos from the trip. There’s a lot coming. I took 12000 RAW files, so be ready 🤣( lucky I’m a photographer in a digital camera world and not shooting on film).

Starting next week, I’ll be posting the best pictures, chronologically like last year, taking you along for the whole road trip from the beginning. 😍

Arches National Park never disappoints. 🇺🇸

In just five days, we’re heading back to the USA for another epic road trip. This time, we’ll combining it with the Canadian Rockies. Grand Teton, Glacier, Banff, and Jasper have been on our list for a long time, and we can’t wait to finally experience them. 😍

The American West is one of those places we keep coming back to. Endless landscapes, incredible national parks, and the kind of scenery that never gets old.
