À little trip to Tudun Hatsi in Gombe
Dutsen Hatsi can be translated as "the hill of grains"? 🤔😅
Most of what they do is wholesale packaging of grains to different parts of the country and sometimes even outside the country,
Most abundant grain here is beans, but you also see bambara nuts, millet, sorghum etc

ART ft. x15.o1
Art isn’t about perfection. It’s about expression, being able to express your thoughts/ideas into reality….
At least that’s what I picked up from the Caustival art exhibition titled “the state of the nation”.
While I kept worrying about the poor light for “nice pictures”, I realised moments we’re passing by and what’s more important that that? Simply put, while you wait for everything to be perfect, you lose moments that are worth more than gold. ✌🏾 #jpeg taken in Abuja, Nigeria by @maarufworks

Jafi (Jahi)
Jafi or jahi, which means horseman salute, is a gesture of respect performed by a rider, usually involving a slight bow and a hand gesture while on horseback.
On the eve of the Eid el Adha, the district heads (Hakimai) of Daura emirate, ride to the Emir’s palace in Daura town to pledge their loyalty and readiness for the upcoming celebrations.
While the Emir waits in the palace courtyard, the district heads, led by Galadiman Daura, arrive with their entourage on horseback to greet him. Afterward, they dismount and return on foot to update the Emir about their preparedness for upcoming events and to pray for his health and long life. When all the districts heads have passed, the emir retires back to his chambers and everyone disperses for the day.
This event is know as Jafi, or “kawo jafi”

Another side of Eid.
Daura 2024.
While most are preparing for Hawan Sallah, family visits and other forms of celebrations, for the “mahauta” community it’s a different type of celebration as it’s their busiest time of the year. Work here is nonstop as various people come to either buy portions of meat or deliver the heads, legs and skins of their slaughter to sell or clean. #jpeg by @maarufworks

Sometime you have to go through pain to reach happiness.
Cliche but apt. The little trials makes life more interesting. But honestly life will still interesting without them 😂😁 #documentaryphotography #documentaryphotography_bw #jpeg taken in Ochon, Obubra by @maarufworks
