Lately, I’ve often felt like putting together more «modern» outfits. Almost everything I’m wearing here is new: the trousers, the cap, the shoes. But there’s one exception: an early 2000s Arc’teryx Covert Collar Zip, made in Canada. It’s made from Polartec Thermal Pro fleece with the texture of a knitted wool sweater. Of course, technical vintage pieces do show their age: the sleeve pocket has come unstuck along the bottom and needs to be sewn back on (which, incidentally, is why I’m always a little wary of vintage technical clothing: membranes, adhesives and other components don’t always hold up over decades). Otherwise, the fleece has held up beautifully. I like how it works with the other pieces, even though they were made more than twenty years apart. Arc’teryx started making fleece garments in the late ’90s, and I even found this model in their 2004 catalogue. Along the way, I also read a few in-depth articles about the brand’s evolution. Exploring the world of vintage Arc’teryx is fascinating, but I won’t get too deep into it in this post. Just sharing a little inspiration! That’s all for today. See you soon, friends! Довольно часто в последнее время мне хочется собирать «современные» образы. В этом комплекте почти все вещи новые: брюки, кепка, обувь. Но есть и исключение: флиска Arc’teryx Covert Collar Zip начала 2000-х, made in Canada. Увидимся! by @maax_li

Hi friends! Long time no see! I haven’t been posting as much on social media lately, and there are a few reasons for this. We moved to a new apartment, which takes a lot of time and effort. I have also immersed myself in learning German because I made the difficult but well-thought-out and important decision to return to medicine and work in a German clinic. That is why I am pouring all my energy into this path! But whenever I have a free minute, I will definitely keep sharing new looks and beautiful photos with you. Big hugs!🫂 by @maax_li

Recently I found a vintage (90s–00s) Levi’s TYPE III jacket in a thrift store. I’d been wanting to add this silhouette to my collection for a long time, but until now I only had older cuts. Here’s the kind of look I put together with it: corduroy, trench boots, fedora — I’m loving it. And for comparison, I also tried on my reproduction TYPE II from @sugarcanedenim to show the difference! 📸 @kukushka_bez_chasov by @maax_li

I went hunting through Subotica’s local secondhand shops and found a couple of real gems—luckily, with Italy and France so close, there’s always something interesting to come across! One of my finds is a blazer from Torrente, a brand founded in 1969 by Rose Torrente-Mett. Before launching her own label, she worked with her brother, Ted Lapidus, the founder of the Ted Lapidus fashion house. In 1971, she introduced a men’s prêt-à-porter line and a women’s line, Miss Torrente, and became a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture—the organization that regulated the world of haute couture in France at the time. Membership in it confirmed that a brand met the strict haute couture standards: exclusivity, handcrafted production, and the highest level of craftsmanship—virtually everything was made by hand, following time-honored traditions. And that wasn’t all. Houses within the syndicate were granted the right to take part in Paris Haute Couture Week. Rose Torrente-Mett’s designs stood out for their luxurious fabrics, embroidery, and delicate handwork. In 2001, the brand released the fragrance L’Or de Torrente, and in 2003, she stepped away from the industry. In 2021, Torrente filed for bankruptcy. As for my blazer, it’s most likely from the 1980s! The fabric, by the way, was made by Whiteley & Green, a British textile manufacturer founded in 1879. The company became known for its durable and comfortable cavalry twill. Originally designed for cavalry uniforms, this dense material quickly caught on with civilian riders and city dwellers alike. Over time, it moved from country estates to urban streets, and Whiteley & Green fabrics left their mark on high fashion, inspiring couturiers. And now—the tie! I love its color. My collection is already quite large, but I still manage to find something new. This is a silk tie by Fabio Ferretti, handmade in Italy. Putting together outfits with it is pure pleasure. That’s all for today’s vintage finds and a bit of styling inspiration—see you soon! by @maax_li

I recently found a great pair of Polo Jeans Company by Ralph Lauren at a thrift store. They’re from around the 1990s and, man, what a gorgeous fit. Initially, I thought they’d only work for «Friends» style outfits, but I’ve ended up putting together all sorts of combinations, including with Red Wing boots and a Type II jacket. A new gem in the collection, for sure! We don’t live by selvedge alone, right? by @maax_li
