Barista at heart: I am serving what I'd like to receive.

"A smile, a drink of joy, a moment of pleasure, real human connection filled with gratitude and kindness."

This is what I expect and therefore what I try to serve each time I am not alone. Each time I connect to the eyes of other people I greet positively, I smile, I nod or just say friendly "Hi". It doesn't matter if I am at work as a Barista or just a customer, even when I pass by unknown faces and people on the streets... It doesn't cost you anything and can mean everything to someone.

For me personally hospitality is not only having a great cup of coffee served ..but to create a room where people can let their guards down,... where everybody feels they belong there, ... where people have a moment of rest,... where the room feels like your own living room, ...the cup like your warm greeting and the company you're with the moment to become a memory filled with joy, the little joys of life.
..
I serve because I long for it. Only when I contribute can I create that space and cup of joy.

Raw and probably not in my favour of what I think I'd look good in. But it is perfectly a representation of the moments in-between. He captured a part of me that is mostly present in recent times. And honestly not my favourites but I think the most truest & realest pictures of me. You see the marks that time has left on my face and you see the monologues written all on me. The pressed smile when you collect all the positive parts of yourself, still somehow to have a good time. The dark circles of sleepless nights. Yes I may seem like a social butterfly 🦋 but I do have to collect the energy from somewhere. Luckily I have those coffee breaks with people who from time to time push me out of my shell. الحمد لله one thing I can be grateful about ✨🌸🌺

I am expressive say's my sister🤭😂. Which I agree with but as much as I am expressive I can truly hide what's inside. I am so tired, so tired that I do not have the energy to hold the mask anymore. So this little escape ( which I can't afford, it's my sister that made it possible and barely she can do so, which builds the feeling of guilt inside and being a scumbag) is the luxury I cherish and try to enjoy as much as I can with a mind that never seems to rest.
All of you who are mentally aligned, can sleep through the night, have the capacity to rest, your health is not compromised just know that as much I love that for you I am hopelessly jealous. Mit anderen Worten es sei euch aus tiefster Seele gegönnt und es gibt nichts sehnlicheres das ich für mich selbst wünsche. Coldbrew tea : jasmin || chamomile || white 🤍 @plantybrews thank you for your recommendation honestly loved the white tea so much. I can recommend it to everybody who is doing a trip to Paris.

Their signature coldbrew mixture with coffee and white tea. Honestly one of them drinks that surprises you on many different levels. Loved every bit of it. But mostly the coldbrew white tea and also the Jasmin one. Damn was that a coldbrew.

My sister fell in love with their cookies that she decided to buy their whole pantry with the cookies 🤭✨;

Honestly I think the reason why this Cafe was special for me is the Barista. He treats every guest with so much attention that every expression was memorable and every sip just joy multiplied by the positivity he spreads around. I think when a Barista is into the craft every cup can taste pretty much great but to build a core memory or an unforgettable experience is for me the way I am treated as a human especially when people don't know I am in coffee. I usually share that piece of information after my first coffee and impressions of the place and p taken in Paris, France by @mabarista

Recap: Brussels WoC 24.06-29.06.26
Honestly I may be from time to time a social butterfly.
.
But for sure I am really bad at making pictures and photos when I am in company with people. I do forget when I talk 🤭✨ I've met so many people I like, some I admire some I'd like to learn from. Those encounters will remain as pictures & movie sequences in my mind even though I don't have a physical lasting picture.
This was my first WoC @worldcoffeechampionships and it was really great, I learned so much, was surrounded by so many like-minded people, it was demanding & relaxing at the same time. Intense but so joyful. From the heat to the thunders, from the competitions to the Expo, from Coffee- hoppings to the parties, it was a blast.
My Air-Bnb roommates were cute and lovely made my journey so memorable and unique. The Expo was kinda' gathering of the German community in Brussels 🤭( we took over 🤭🤣)
The Volunteering is always a connecting & learning kind of work. I do appreciate to have been part and have been able to participate at WoC. Especially afterwards going out for dinner together and having a good time with so many different kind of people. So many stories, so many different backgrounds and paths.As much I love to talk as much I love to listen to those stories and paths of people, where they have been, what did they do, why are they doing what they are doing and how do they see the present and the future.

Everybody do struggle with their packages and heavy weights on their shoulders. On my weak days where I feel what I feel I try to preserve the little things I see as the beauty and luxury of life. It not necessarily reaches me deep down but I still recognise in this moment the privilege of experiencing such moments.

not gonna lie it’s much more difficult to use Social media in a moderate way than I thought I can manage. I am on my path though. Step by step and I will be able to use everything in my skill arsenal to my advantages. I am listening to people who are much further in their paths and goals, talking to to people who have generally a positive can attitude with a sense for reality, and building the space I don’t have right now brick by brick but I see for myself in the near future.

But mostly praying to god that I’ll be always happy where I am right now and moving in directions where I can be proud of myself. That I am a decent, morally mature and correct person. I die with the knowledge I‘ve left good deeds in this world and will have even a better afterlife. by @mabarista
