Portfolio Project Day 3!
"For their hair was of a brilliant shining white, and their ears were red; and as the whiteness of their bodied shone, so did the redness of their ears glisten." - Mabinogion.
This is a digital piece I made for the cover of my sister's book, Celtic Witchcraft, that came out in 2016. The book is an excellent read, and the cover image is based on the Cwn Annwn, a type of spectral hound from celtic mythology.

Jewels on my fence. A green shield bug in the surprisingly bright September sun.

Exploring. Steps bordered by old stone walls climbing up to an unseen path, with twilight sky behind. by @mabherick

Cotoneaster leaves and berries absolutely glowing in my garden.
A new poem for the autumn equinox, with wishes of simple contentment for those who celebrate:

We’re halfway between
Maximum light
And maximum dark
Time to pause, reflect, take stock,
Or just sigh
Grin
And keep on keeping on
Balance is a tricky old thing
Maybe the planet does it so well
Because we find it so hard.

This year, the autumn equinox is on Wednesday 23rd August at 1:05 am, so I’ll probably celebrate the night before with quiet reflection, a clean of altar areas, and a big sigh of relief after what has been an intense summer. How will you mark the equinox? P.S. The equinox is the midpoint between the solstices, but not necessarily the point when day and light is equal. That day is known as the Equilux, which I think is September 25th in the north of England where I live. 🌞 🌙 🍁

What an amazing night that was. The sun was shining, the air literally glowed. We missed Seb Lowe as we got stuck in traffic. Self Esteem was delightfully deranged, powerful, moving, and so so brilliant. I cried. Pulp were incredible as always. Better every time. And I’ve been going to see them since 1998. I was 16. Me and @jim_mapps skived off school so we could get to Manchester Apollo early. Back in Manchester last night to see them again as a married couple with one of our kids in tow, who had an absolute blast. @jarvisbransoncocker said this is the last big show for a while. Absolutely privileged to be there, and I really hope there is More to come! Oh and the Moon came out part way through the show, looking absolutely fabulous post-eclipse.

Shamelessly stealing (and hopefully promoting) @tattydevine ‘s sumptuous Pulp jewellery designs (and yes I have several!) because we are going to see PULP tonight, third time in three years, probably the tenth time in my life??? My favourite live band and the musical love of my life, with the actual loves of my life, my spouse and my first born. Wythenshaw Park, here we come! Hopefully via @theratandpigeonmcr if we get finished early enough with work. Shit, I better get to bed… @welovepulp #pulp #TheFuturesOwnedByYouAndMe by @mabherick

Getting madam used to the new garden is… not going great. She did not like her dashing new harness and was not happy about any of this. She’s now contentedly back on the sofa, fast asleep on @jim_mapps snoodie. We’ll try again tomorrow, I guess.

Just a little snap of my Luna because she’s so pretty. Sorry I neglected you for so long my lovely - I’ve been on an enforced guitar hiatus while we were moving house, played again yesterday and my fingers are already soft! Wah!

Image shows the headstock of a six string acoustic guitar with a pearlescent moon on it and the world LUNA, with a plastic tambourine behind it and a barely visible Magnus organ.
