• Night Studio

NYC loft-inspired space, complete with built-in desk, paper storage, open shelves, and a small pantry. The sleeping area above have beautiful views at night and comfy enough to let you or both of you artists to rest, read, and get your ideas ready for the next day of practicing.

• Day Studio

Our Day Studio is equipped with a 260x60cm adjustable height work table, paper storage, a trolley for your art supplies, and a little pantry for all of your artsy or food needs. The armchair folds out to a single bed for those who wants to stay overnight even though we designed this specific studio to be for those who wants a space outside of their home to expand their art practice.

• Artist Narrative: Cees van Dijk

Amsterdam-based emerging artist Cees van Dijk spent his time at our residency developing his concept of upcycling monochromatic oil paints alongside his personal quest of trying every nasi campur around the area.

His way of applying thick paint onto treated canvas surfaces —isolating different kinds of black and a touch of other colors here and there —creates this luscious dynamic for the audience to ponder upon. Every canvas captured a performance of bringing back the materials that was once forgotten. Such an enigma to witness during the whole month of May.

• Ubud Open Studios 2026

We are glad to announce our second participation on the fifth edition of Ubud Open Studios, held all around Ubud and its nearby districts.

For those who are new to the concept, open studios is when you get to visit artists as they open their studios to the public. They will showcase their works, process, and you get to even talk to the artists themselves.

Our residency will be opening our studio building for visits and our gallery as a workshop space, led by multiple artists within our community. We’ll be the one-stop-for-all kind of go-to.

• Artist Narrative: Abigail Marsh

Abigail, also known as Abby, was able to spend the month of April at our residency with the aim to create works through the techniques of batik and natural dyeing. She created a corner for herself at the communal area, nearby her makeshift natural dye baths made out of indigo, mud, and ceriops.

Her background as a textile artist who quilts female figures gets challenged as she had to adapt and get creative with her studio set up. During the time that she was here, she have dedicated so much time in experimenting with a whole new different medium, and so she completed the residency with a whole new set of skills to enrich her artistry.

• Mabiang Seni From Up Above

Our compound finished its building period by mid-2023 and started operating fully in 2025. During the in-betweens, we have prepped the residency with trials and errors, doing our best to keep it going whether there’s only one or two artists, until it was fully occupied from time to time.

We want to preserve and celebrate our current achievements by sharing to you these beautiful drone shots by Cepy and Riza from @dstory.of team. On a beautiful Friday afternoon, they have managed to capture Mabiang Seni in its wholeness. Lots of gratitude to those who are involved.
