5 years. 5 years of missing you, Dad🤍

I can’t believe how much has changed within those years. So many things I want to tell you. So many people I want to introduce to you. So much advice I want to ask you. So many questions I want to know about you.
As I’ve grown older I mourn less of what I had and lost, and more of what I’ll never get to experience. I’ll never have you walk me down the aisle, go to a bar with you, watch me graduate from our Alma matter, go on a Lee family vacation, get to know you as Dave and not just Dad, see you be a grandfather, experience an IU Natty, ask career advice, and thank you for the life you gave us.
Surprisingly, it’s not all negative. This has made us more resilient than most. I appreciate the little things more and take less for granted. I strive to show all the great parts of you through myself. Making you proud pushes me to do better.
I wish constantly that I could show you the person I am today and the amazing people my siblings have grown into, but I have to remind myself that you do know and how proud you are of us.

Hug your parents. Always watch out for road bikers. Never take anything for granted.

Love you always Dave Lee💙 by @mac.kenzie.lee
