Happy Birthday Mama🌻 our love trancends all boundaries of existence. You are apart of my cells and my soul. I hope you are having a glass of wine and good company wherever you may be. I love you - your macky I had to repost this because it cut off the video. by @mac.sorensen
To my beautiful mom, It’s now the fourth birthday I’ve spent away from you. But only the third year you’ve been gone. I sometimes feel like I’m just repeating myself when I post these things and some people may think it’s silly but in some ways It makes me feel like I’m talking to her. This year has been rough to say the least and I really really really needed you. But I found that every time I missed you, something or someone would come into my life and reassure me in a way that reminded me of you. You left me with such a strong support system of women and I’ve been adding to my circle of mothers, collecting them like thanos. ( you wouldn’t even get that joke sorry mom ) but in a serious sense, I am so lucky to be so loved and cared for in your absence. Though I will always be craving your love and your support I know you’d be so happy to know I have people looking out for me. I think of you and the person you were and how you made others feel and try my best to keep a piece of that in me. What a flex it would be to be like you! The most nurturing, kindest, wittiest, silliest, big hearted theatrical empath on planet earth. I may have gotten carried away with the adjectives but ITS TRUE! Anyone that knows you knows it’s all true! Sometimes I try to view life through your eyes and to be honest, it’s a much more joyful experience. You appreciated the little things and you noticed it all. I couldn’t go one car ride with you without you putting on an old song and you telling me exactly where you were when you heard it the first time and to “listen to the lyrics macky!” If it makes you feel any better I always did and I always will :) I love you dearly and I hope today is as special for you as it is for me. I’ll carry you with me always. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! (Give aura a kiss for me) by @mac.sorensen
1 year ago today my life got completely ripped from under my feet and flipped around. I felt like I aged a couple years the week of her passing. Having to become an adult a little bit faster than I planned was terrifying. I’ve experienced grief in a way that I can’t really describe and will never be able to fully comprehend. I feel so lucky to have had such an amazing mom who made an impact on every person she met with her big heart and her loud and vibrant energy. She made everyone feel included and comfortable while also being the star of the show lol. She was becoming one of my best friends as I got older and I value those times where we could just laugh together and talk so openly. I feel almost lucky to be able to mourn her because it’s just my love for her continuing on forever. But I won’t pretend I don’t feel angry, I feel like I got screwed over. Like it’s not fair. My mom is gone and I hate that time keeps moving without her. She’s supposed to be with me and watch me grow and see me become an adult and cheer me on like she always has. She’s supposed to be here for all my important life marks. She’s already missed so much and it’s been a year. I will envy the relationship my friends have with their moms as they get older. Getting married, having kids, just in general being a woman without your mom to guide you is scary. by @mac.sorensen
