#Artist: Gregory Dalton (@greg_dalton_studio) Title: Hermitage of the Sloth For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) Above and beyond, the Araucaria trees stand with ancient austerity. Their geometry is archaic, almost pre human; vertical, disciplined, enduring. This drawing imagines a landscape in which deep time, extinction, and botanical life coexist outside ordinary chronology. Prehistoric animals, skeletal remains, tropical vegetation, and strange flowering plants occupy the same terrain, while a dark cave like opening suggests passage into another ecological or geological world. Rather than reconstructing a specific prehistoric environment, the work treats natural history as a dream; fragments of different eras accumulating into an invented landscape. Dense passages of ink alternate with large areas of open space, allowing forms to emerge, disappear, and transform across the composition. The landscape becomes both an imagined ecosystem and a meditation on extinction, decomposition, memory, and the persistence of life through deep time. ‡ #art #drawings #macabregallery #artforsale by @macabregallery

#Artist: Gregory Dalton (@greg_dalton_studio) Title: The Stapelia For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) The Stapelia presents a scene of transformation in which the human body, desert landscape, insects, and flowering plants become part of a single biological cycle. A reclining figure is overtaken by an elaborate growth of stapelia flowers and strange organic forms, while ants move across the body and surrounding ground. Nearby, a second human form appears to disperse into a swarm, hovering between material presence and dissolution. The work draws on the unusual ecology of stapelia; succulent plants whose carrion-like flowers attract insects for pollination; to imagine nature as a force of consumption and reconstruction. Death and decay are not presented as endpoints, but as stages within an ongoing process in which one form is absorbed and reorganized into another. Combining botanical imagery, grotesque anatomy, and dream logic, The Stapelia draws upon folk horror and the natural decomposition of carcasses, imagining the body as part of a continuous cycle of decay, pollination, and regeneration. Its delicate linework and pale desert atmosphere contrast with the dense mass of flowers and bodily fragments at its center, turning an apparently tranquil landscape into a scene of metamorphosis. ‡ #art #drawings #macabregallery #artforsale #thestapeliafolkhorrordeadbotanicalhorrorsurrealismsymbolismsurrealistartsymbolistartgrotesqueartdarkartgregorydalton by @macabregallery

#Artist: Gregory Dalton (@greg_dalton_studio) Title: St. Michael For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) St. Michael reimagines the traditional image of the archangel’s victory over Lucifer as a quiet, dreamlike encounter. Michael appears suspended in luminous mist, his immense wings surrounding a figure clad in invented armor of leather, iron, and deep red. Rather than depicting Lucifer as a monster, he retains his angelic form and gazes calmly toward the viewer, suggesting a more ambiguous relationship between the two figures—beings who once belonged to the same celestial order. The painting combines sacred imagery with the visual language of Symbolism, Surrealism, and the fantastic. Historical references coexist with contemporary elements, leaving the scene outside any identifiable period. Layered and linear passages of armor contrast with atmospheric clouds and floating feathers, allowing highly constructed forms to emerge from and dissolve back into the painted surface. The work is concerned less with the violence of the battle than with its aftermath: separation, transformation, and the strange stillness between the victorious and the fallen. ‡ #art #paintings #macabregallery #artforsale #stmichaelsurrealismsymbolismfantasticartdarkartfolkhorrorgothicartvisionaryartoilpaintingangelartgregorydalton by @macabregallery

#Artist: Maurizio Conte (@maurizio_conte_art) Title: The Empress – No.3 Tarot Series For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) The Empress is not a queen. She is Creation itself. No.3 from my ongoing Tarot series. Seated on her throne, she holds the scepter of dominion and the shield of the soul. Around her, life blooms in excess: the lion of raw instinct, the peacock of vanity and immortality, the dove of spirit, the tree of life growing from the abyss. Every element is a symbol. The eagle on the shield for empire, the open book for hidden knowledge, the number III – creation, birth, abundance. She does not rule with power. She rules by making things grow. Entirely hand-drawn in dotwork using Pigma Micron pens from 0.03 to 12. Many hours of stippling on paper. No digital shading, no shortcuts. Just millions of dots building a garden. For me, The Empress is the counterbalance to the dark work I usually do. She is not macabre, she is fertile, overwhelming, sometimes too much. Beauty that consumes. Original drawing for sale. One of a kind. The series continues. ‡ #art #drawings #macabregallery #artforsale #darksurrealism #divinefeminine #dotwork #empresstarot #esotericart #inkdrawing #occultart #occultsymbolism #peacock #pigmamicron #stipplingart #symbolism #tarotart #tarotcard #tarotseries #theempress by @macabregallery

#Artist: Tommy Knudson (@tommyknudson) Title: The Poet For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) In this piece, I poured my imagination into a dreamscape where reality unravels and symbolism reigns. The surreal figures and odd juxtapositions invite you to explore hidden depths of human nature and absurdity. Using oil, I aimed to evoke a mysterious, otherworldly energy that stirs reflection and wonder. This artwork will spark curiosity and a sense of enigma, transforming any space with its bold, thought-provoking presence. ‡ #art #paintings #macabregallery #artforsale #demons #figures #food #religion by @macabregallery

#Artist: Maurizio Conte (@maurizio_conte_art) Title: Blooming Psychosis For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) Booming Psychosis is about how madness doesn’t rot, it blooms. A grotesque vase-face, grinning, becomes the soil. From its open mouth, a garden grows, but the flowers are wrong. Petals are eyes that watch you, buds are skulls, leaves are tongues, butterflies are fleeting thoughts. It was inspired by the idea that a psychotic break is not an ending, but a violent flowering. The ugly, repressed part of us is the most fertile. From the monstrous vase comes the most delicate and disturbing beauty. Everything you see is an intrusive thought that has taken floral form: the clown that laughs at you, the pockmarked moon, the dice of chance, the skull that bares its fangs among the roses. Ink and dotwork on paper, 60+ hours of obsessive stippling. A garden grown from a sick mind. ‡ #art #drawings #macabregallery #artforsale #blackandwhite #botanicalhorror #clown #darkart #darksurrealism #dotwork #eyeart #floralhorror #grotesqueart #inkdrawing #intricatedrawing #macabreart #mentalillnessart #pointillism #psychedelichorror #psychosis #skullart #stippling #surrealhorror #visionaryart by @macabregallery

#Artist: Matěj Pekárna (@x.tsumetai) Title: Fallen Princess For sale at Macabre Gallery (link in bio) “Fallen Princess” is a deeply narrative and visually dense painting that bridges classical iconography with modern visceral horror. At its center sits a tragic yet majestic entity—a demonic princess whose porcelain-like skin is fractured by trauma and stained with blood. Her silver, pupil-less eyes shed bloody tears into the void, while her mouth, forcibly silenced by brutal cross-stitches, retains a chillingly stoic hint of a smile. She is a portrait of a fractured idol, a porcelain doll breaking under the weight of a dark curse, yet refusing to lose her royal composure. The figure is crowned by massive, cracking ram horns and a bleeding red halo that boldly deconstructs the traditional concept of sanctity. An occult sigil, painted in blood, marks her forehead like a tragic seal. Despite her horrific transformation, her royal lineage is undeniable, highlighted by a rich, textured blue robe and a heavy, majestic necklace set with vibrant red cabochon gemstones. Executed in a masterful mixed-media technique using oil over an acrylic base, the painting boasts extreme physical texture. The silver hair and dripping blood form a tactile impasto that physically leaps from the canvas. The scene is claustrophobically framed by grotesque, crawling centipedes—ancient symbols of decay and the underworld—trapping the princess in a toxic, swirling yellow-green abyss. The true power of “Fallen Princess” lies in its psychological tension: it does not evoke frantic agony, but rather a haunting, regal silence in the face of absolute destruction. ‡ #art #paintings #macabregallery #artforsale #bleedinghalo #blindsilvereyes #bloodytears #bodyhorror #centipedes #crackedporcelain #darkart #darkfantasy #darksurrealism #demonicroyalty #fallenprincess #gothicart #hornedprincess #macabreart #mixedmediapainting #occultsigil #oilimpasto #sacreddesecration #sewnlips #texturedfineart #tragicbeauty by @macabregallery
