Never in a million years thought that I would have to go visit you at a cemetery at 19 years old this is the hardest pill to sallow💙 #bluefortaylor #untilwemeetagain #heavengainedanangel by @macelynb

Didn’t think I would have to say goodbye so fast to my brother that was only 19 years old . This is the hardest this I ever went through . This doesn’t feel real my brother gone I won’t be able to fight with him anymore or joke around or ride four wheeler or take goofy picture or hear your voice again. It’s going to be the toughest thing for me and my family . We use to have 5 know we have 4 sadly just know Taylor we love you with all our heart you had the biggest heart. Heaven has gained one perfect angel I know for sure . People are like I know what you going through you don’t into you actually go through it . My brother was the life of the party and he would do anything just to put a smile on your face . He was a popular person most people liked him because of how good of a person he was . My brother would give the shirt of his back for me I know he would he put other before himself. It’s so hard to walk in he’s room it just feel like your still here but in your loud truck coming down the road . Every time I heard a loud truck it was always you . I can’t believe that I have to talk to you like looking up in the sky it’s just doesn’t feel real . I’m so ready to see you one day . I love you tay tay!🕊 💗long live TB #imissyoutaylorb by @macelynb

Sometimes in life there are losses . Losses that can never be replaced. Losing you has been the hardest thing I’ve ever had to live with. I wasn’t ready to say goodbye. I wasn’t ready to let you leave. I would give anything for just one more day, just one more second. But I’ve learned to trust in unconditional love. Because the one profound thing about death is that love never dies. Some bonds cannot be broken. Because even though your not physically here, your heart is - it lives on within me. I carry your heart inside mine. I carry it on days when I discover something new. I carry it on days when beauty unfolds in the most unexpected places. I carry it on days when I find the courage to heal and grow. I carry it with me - always. Someday we will meet again - and no longer be separated by time or space. But until that day, l’ll find comfort in knowing that you are still with me. Your heart safely tucked inside mines. Some hearts just belong together and nothing will ever change that. I love you then. I love you now. Always did. Always will. Forever in my mind. Forever in my heart. I will carry you. 2 years feels like yesterday I wish I could talk to you in the moment. I never thought that I was going to loss you so early. This is the hardest pill to sallow. But until we meet again I love you so much and miss you I can’t wait to see you at the golden gates of heaven I will be ready !👼🏼🕊💙#lltb #angel #brotherkeeper #neverapart by @macelynb

Taylor,
Six years. I can’t believe I’m even saying that. Six whole years without you here, and the truth is, it still doesn’t feel real. Some days, it feels like you just left. Other days, it feels like I’ve lived an entire lifetime since I last saw your face, heard your laugh, saw your name on my phone, or heard you call me “Maybel.” You were only 19, and I was only 13. You had so much life left to live, and we were supposed to have so many more years together. Growing up without you was never supposed to be part of the plan. It feels like a part of me died when you did because you were such a big part of who I was and who I still am.

You weren’t just my brother, Zachary Taylor Best. You were Tay Tay—my built-in best friend, my big brother, my protector, my safe place, and the only person in our family who truly understood me without my having to explain myself. We were two of a kind. You were just like me, and I’ve always felt like I’m the girl version of you. We looked alike, acted alike, thought alike, and shared the same kind of heart, humor, softness, and way of feeling things. Out of everyone, you were the person who made me feel the least alone.

When I think of you, the first word that comes to mind is protective. You always had my back, especially if anyone tried to mess with me. I never had to question whether you would be there for me. Our whole relationship felt like, “You can count on me. I’ll be there.” You made me feel safe, seen, protected, and loved in a way nobody has ever been able to replace.

I miss being your little sister. I miss having a big brother who understood me, defended me, and knew what I was feeling without my having to say it. I’ve always felt different from everyone else, almost like the black sheep of the family, but I never felt that way with you because you were like me. You were the person I talked to—the person I could tell everything to. After you were gone, I felt like I had nobody who truly understood me anymore. Losing you left me feeling like an only child in a way that’s hard to explain. Our whole family changed when we lost you, and nothing has ever felt completely the same since. Even when we don’t talk about you by @macelynb

Through every loss, every sleepless night, every moment I felt forgotten, He was still there. He turned my pain into lessons, my silence into strength, and my heartbreak into wisdom. I lost people I thought would always stay, but I found peace that can’t be shaken. I let go of what wasn’t meant for me, and in doing so, I found myself. Now I move differently. I speak softer, but I stand stronger. I protect my peace with everything in me. I’ve learned that you can’t control how people treat you, but you can control how you rise from it. And I am rising — with grace, faith, and gratitude. I may still ache for what I lost — the feelings, the moments, the memories I’ll never get back — but I gained something far more powerful: peace, clarity, strength, and purpose. God removed what wasn’t meant for me, even when I didn’t understand why. Every ending I faced was really just a new beginning. He reminded me that my story isn’t over, my strength is greater than I realize, and every setback is part of a bigger plan. I felt unseen, unheard, and completely alone at times, and the hurt cut deeper than I could explain. I carried weight that wasn’t mine to carry and faced situations I never signed up for. But the heartbreak didn’t define me — it refined me. I’ve learned to love myself, trust God’s timing, and embrace a future brighter than anything I could have imagined. I’m at peace now, but I carry my story with me, and it reminds me every day that I survived, I grew, and I will always rise. The battles I endured didn’t break me — they built me. I had no choice but to step back and reveal myself from nothing. It felt unfair. It felt cruel. And yet, even in the moments I felt completely broken, God never left me. by @macelynb

I’ve lost dreams I held onto so tightly, missed the moments I looked forward to, and had to completely change the future plans I once made for myself. The pain of missing my senior year — not walking across that stage with my classmates, stepping away from the field I loved most, letting go of milestones I worked toward my whole life — was real. I pictured every moment: the lights, the cheers, the ending I thought I deserved. Instead, I have to watch the path most students get to walk slowly slip away from me, and it broke something inside me. I lost moments I thought I’d never miss, people I thought would always be there, plans I once believed were unshakable. I watched my own dreams fall apart in front of me. Things I loved were taken or ruined, and it felt unfair — even cruel. There were nights I questioned why. Why did everything have to happen this way? Why did something so good turn into something painful? The betrayal from people I trusted made me question my worth, and there were days I didn’t know if I had the strength to keep moving forward. Nights were the hardest — when the world was quiet and I was left alone with my thoughts, the pain felt unbearable. I cried more than I’ll ever admit, and there were moments I wanted to give up entirely. I went through battles no one saw. I faced manipulation, lies, and people who drained everything from me. I had to watch as my own dreams slipped through my fingers, as things I loved were taken or ruined, and I had no choice but to step back and rebuild myself from nothing. It felt unfair. It felt cruel. And yet, even in the moments I felt completely broken, God never left me. He carried me when I couldn’t stand, gave me strength when I had none, and whispered hope into my heart when I was ready to give up. He reminded me that my value is not tied to what I lose, my life is not defined by setbacks, and my pain is not wasted. by @macelynb

taylor,
5 years. i can’t believe I’m even saying that. it’s been 5 years without you here, and the truth is it still feels unreal. some days it feels like you just left, and other days it feels like a lifetime since I’ve seen your face or heard your voice. no matter how much time passes, the missing never stops. people say grief gets easier, but it doesn’t—it just becomes part of you. you learn to smile and live with the weight of it, but the ache in your heart never goes away.

i miss you so much. i miss your laugh, the way you could always make things lighter, the way you protected me without even having to say a word. you weren’t just my brother, you were my best friend. i still find myself wanting to tell you things, wanting to hear your advice, wanting to just have one more conversation with you. i wonder all the time what life would look like if you were still here, and it breaks me knowing I’ll never get those moments back.

grief comes in waves. sometimes i feel strong, and other times it hits me so hard I can’t breathe. it shows up in random little things—a song, a smell, a memory that pops into my head out of nowhere. and when it hits, it feels like I’m losing you all over again. but even through the pain, i feel you. i feel you in my heart, i see you in the signs around me, i know you’re still with me in your own way. that’s the only thing that keeps me going.

in these 5 years, I’ve learned that grief is really just love that doesn’t have anywhere to go. and taylor, i have so much love for you. more than I’ll ever be able to put into words. if i could trade anything for just one more hug, one more laugh, one more day with you, i would. but since i can’t, I’ll keep carrying you with me in everything i do. you’ll never just be a memory to me. you’ll always be my brother, my angel, my heart.

i love you endlessly. i miss you endlessly. five years without you feels impossible, but I’ll keep living in a way that honors you until the day i see you again. rest easy, taylor. always and forever. 💙 by @macelynb

rarely seen, always noticed 💋 by @macelynb

happy 24th birthday taylor. Taylor passed away, and it’s been incredibly hard to cope with the loss. Taylor was more than just a brother; he was a best friend, a confidant, and a source of endless joy in my life. He had a way of making everyone around him feel special and loved. His laughter was infectious, and he had a heart of gold.

Taylor was always there for me, whether I needed advice, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to share a laugh with. He had this incredible ability to light up a room and make even the darkest days seem brighter. His kindness and generosity knew no bounds, and he touched the lives of so many people.

Losing Taylor has left a void that can never be filled, but I find comfort in the memories we shared and the love he gave. He may no longer be with us physically, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. I will always cherish the time we had together and carry his memory with me wherever I go. #lltb💙 by @macelynb

In memory of my brother, who is an angel in heaven. I never thought I would lose you at such a young age. It still feels surreal that you left us for a better place. I will never forget the countless memories we shared. I know you are watching over me from heaven. Our paths may have changed as life went along, but our bond remained ever strong. I love you taylor and forever will!!!❤️ by @macelynb
