“For You” 🤍

A collection of letters in song… some things I held on to when I didn’t know what else to look toward over the darkest parts of the last three years.

One written before the unraveling — forecasted, if you will.
One written after an unexpected loss.
One written as a wake up call.

These songs deserved their own space to live before the record gets here. They’ve been a gift for me to heal from, and I’m hoping they can do the same for anyone that might need a little lovin’ too.

These songs aren’t for me anymore, they’re For You.

Recorded out of Nashville with @_grant.edwards 🐐Grant, thank you for your talent and for giving these songs exactly the space they needed to breathe.

just so we’re on the same page ❤️‍🔥

my names Macelyn, and I’m happy as hell you’re here. my story is a little unconventional, and I like it that way:

happy childhood home, hard worker, educated (and then more educated)— surgeon/wife/mom? Nope. Divorce, addiction, death and shitty mental health. And now?

Peace.

I love making music. I love country culture and being from the South. I love my people. And I really love my dog.

I don’t have it all figured out. And I surely don’t know where this train is headed. But I do know that Something bigger than me most definitely does. All I can do is my part to give back, the best I know how.

Long story short: everyone’s got a story to tell, I’m just grateful to be here and be able to share mine with you 🤍

New music out soon.

I’ve spent some time getting to know @macelynbatten the past couple days and I must say it’s been a blessing.

Her story is beautiful, real and it shows through who she is. Just in one conversation, you can tell she’s someone you’re blessed to be around.

Her music not only sounds beautiful, but it is. It truly comes from her heart. This is what music is about. She’s not only performing, but she’s telling her story so those that relate can feel seen.

So to explain her best—Macelyn is already a superstar but with a desire to just love people and play music. No matter where her career goes, I know that will never change.

I urge you to go to one of her performances and enjoy the experience of her presence, her gift and her love.

no words for last night — just big feelings 🙏

Thank you @sustoisreal for gifting us the opportunity to open for you and the magic that is Susto Stringband… and BIG thank you @windjammeriop for hosting us all.

Pretty sure my soul full on left my body when we got to cover “Angel From Montgomery” together. Then yall went and jammed in under the deck?! Still not over it. Til next time!
