šŸ”„ HELP ME BUILD KAINE’S SMOKEHOUSE šŸ”„

CALABOGIE BORN • BUILT TO TRAVEL šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦

For most of my life, I’ve worked in the trades.

I’ve spent my days building other people’s dreams — homes for families, projects people worked years to make possible, and places where memories would eventually be made.

I’m proud of that.

But somewhere along the way, I started thinking about a dream of my own.

KAINE’S SMOKEHOUSE.

Not just another food trailer.

I want to build a travelling smokehouse based right here in Calabogie, Ontario — a full commercial kitchen trailer paired with a serious tow-behind smoker.

šŸ”„ Real 12-hour smoked brisket
šŸ”„ Ribs & pulled pork
šŸ”„ Pork belly burnt ends
šŸ”„ Smash burgers
šŸ”„ Northern Twinkies
šŸ”„ Loaded fries & mac
šŸ”„ Nachos & dirty rice
šŸ”„ Hellfire wings & burgers for the brave

But the bigger dream isn’t just the food.

I want Kaine’s Smokehouse to become something that brings people together.

We’ll call Calabogie home, but we’re building this rig to travel.

Fairs. Festivals. Concerts. Sporting events. Markets. Weddings. Community events. Private parties. Corporate events. And anywhere else hungry people want real BBQ.

I’ve spent years working hard with my hands to help build other people’s dreams.

Now I’m asking for a little help building mine — so hopefully I can use it to help make other people’s dreams come true too.

Maybe that’s feeding a family at a fair.

Maybe it’s catering someone’s wedding.

Maybe it’s supporting a local fundraiser.

Maybe one day it’s giving someone their first job or helping another person get their start.

That’s what I want Kaine’s Smokehouse to become.

We’re starting from the ground up, and we’re raising funds to help purchase and build the commercial trailer, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, fire-safety systems, tow-behind smoker, permits, inspections, branding and everything required to get us on the road.

Every donation helps.

But if donating isn’t possible, sharing this post costs nothing and could help more than you know. See what happens check out bio for link. https://gofund.me/48cc0ab4a taken in Calabogie, Ontario by @macfriesframing

Made the best sandwiches with the little one tonight. Check out the recipe below and try. Can not complain. Ultimate Blackstone Loaded Beef Sandwiches

You’ll need:

* 1–1½ lb ground beef (80/20 is perfect)
* 1 large onion, sliced
* 1–2 jalapeños, sliced
* 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
* 1 bell pepper, sliced
* 6–8 slices cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
* 2 large sub buns, ciabatta, or thick Italian rolls
* Butter
* Salt & black pepper
* Garlic powder
* Onion powder
* Worcestershire sauce
* Optional: steak sauce or BBQ sauce
* Mayo for the buns

šŸ”„ Blackstone Method

1. Get the griddle ripping hot. Add a little oil and throw on your onions, peppers, jalapeños and mushrooms.
2. Season with salt, lots of black pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Cook until caramelized and golden. Push them to the cooler side.
3. Throw the ground beef down in two big portions. Smash them hard with your spatula.
4. Season heavily with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Once browned, chop the beef into big juicy pieces.
5. Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce and mix the beef through.
6. Combine the beef and vegetables into two massive piles.
7. Cover each pile with 3–4 slices of cheese. Let it melt down into everything.
8. Butter your buns and toast them cut-side down until golden and crispy.
9. Put a little mayo on the toasted buns, then load that beef/pepper/jalapeño/onion/mushroom/cheese mountain onto the bun.
10. Finish with a drizzle of BBQ sauce or steak sauce. taken in Calabogie, Ontario by @macfriesframing

I made a little bet with Kaine…

I told him if enough people follow his page and share this post, maybe he’ll save us a few bucks on finishing our house. šŸ˜‚

So do us a favour. Follow his page @macfriesframing share this post, and let’s see if we can hold him to it.

Now, the real reason I’m writing this.

Over the years we’ve hired a lot of carpenters. Some start out great, work for a week or two, then disappear to another job. Before you know it, you’re waiting weeks or months for them to come back, wondering when your project is ever going to get finished.

Kaine has been the complete opposite.

The thing that impressed me most wasn’t just the quality of his work. It was his honesty, his fairness, and his reliability. He charges a fair price, shows up when he says he will, and takes pride in doing the job right. Those three things are getting harder and harder to find, and they’re exactly why I have no problem recommending him.

When we needed help finishing our house, a carpenter with more than 20 years of experience happened to move in next door.

Kaine and his family recently moved to Calabogie from Guelph, although his family has had roots here for years. We were lucky enough to have him become our neighbours, and now I have no problem recommending him.

Whether you need:
• Framing
• Full home renovations
• Decks
• Docks
• Stairs down to the lake
• Roofing
• Fences
• Windows
• Insulation
• Drywall
• Flooring
• Tile
• Soffit & eavestrough

…or just about any carpentry project, he’s worth calling.

He’s fully insured and offers free quotes, so if you’ve got a project in mind, give him a call.

If you’re in the Calabogie or Ottawa Valley area, keep Kaine in mind.

One last favour.

Please share this post, follow @macfriesframing, and tag someone who’s looking for a reliable carpenter. Small businesses grow because people recommend them, and this is one recommendation I’m genuinely happy to make.

Now let’s see if all these shares and follows save us a few bucks on the rest of the house. šŸ˜‰

Kaine’s Crispy Smoked Spatchcock Chicken

Ingredients

Chicken

* 1 whole 6.5 lb chicken
* 2 tbsp olive oil

Dry Rub

* 2 tbsp kosher salt
* 1 tbsp coarse black pepper
* 1 tbsp smoked paprika
* 2 tsp garlic powder
* 2 tsp onion powder
* 1 tsp dried thyme
* 1 tsp rosemary
* 1 tsp oregano
* ½ tsp cayenne (optional)

Garlic Herb Butter

* ½ cup softened butter
* 4 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
* 1 tsp thyme
* 1 tsp rosemary
* ½ tsp black pepper

āø»

Prep

1. Remove the backbone using poultry shears.
2. Flip the chicken over and press firmly on the breastbone until it lays completely flat.
3. Pat the chicken very dry with paper towels.
4. Carefully loosen the skin over the breasts and thighs.
5. Spread the garlic herb butter under the skin.
6. Rub the outside with olive oil.
7. Season generously on both sides.

For the crispiest skin, refrigerate the chicken uncovered for 4–12 hours before cooking.

āø»

Broil King Pellet Grill

Pellets: Apple and Cherry blend (or Hickory if you prefer a stronger smoke)

Step 1 – Smoke

* Set grill to 250°F
* Place the chicken skin-side up
* Smoke for 60–75 minutes

Step 2 – Crisp the Skin

* Increase the grill to 375°F
* Cook another 35–50 minutes, until:
 * Breast reaches 160°F
 * Thigh reaches 175–180°F

The total cook time is usually 1¾–2¼ hours.

āø»

Optional Finishing Glaze

Brush on during the last 10 minutes:

* ¼ cup melted butter
* 1 tbsp honey
* 1 tsp Dijon mustard
* ½ tsp garlic powder
* A squeeze of fresh lemon juice

This gives the skin a beautiful golden finish without making it overly sweet.

āø»

Rest

Rest the chicken for 10–15 minutes before carving. The breast will finish at 165°F from carryover cooking, while the thighs stay juicy.

Pro Tip

If your Broil King has direct-flame capability, open it for the last 2–3 minutes to lightly char and blister the skin. Watch it closely—this step crisps the skin beautifully without drying out the meat. taken in Calabogie, Ontario by @macfriesframing
