Still trying to find the words for Saturday❤️

To be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign of North Carolina, in a state where LGBTQ+ people are showing up, speaking out, and building community in all 100 counties … it means everything.

I don’t do this work alone. I carry my community with me—every conversation, every event, every moment we choose to show up instead of shrink back. Especially here in western North Carolina, where visibility can feel like both a risk and a responsibility.

Tonight wasn’t just about recognition. It was a reminder: we are here, we are organized, and we are not going anywhere.

To my friends, my family, my partner, and everyone doing this work alongside me—this belongs to you too.

Now let’s get back to work. 🏳️‍🌈

Building stronger communities starts with strengthening families.

Grateful for the opportunity to attend the 2026 National Fatherhood Summit in Dallas, Texas, connecting with advocates, practitioners, and leaders from across the country who are working to strengthen fatherhood, families, and communities.

I’m leaving Dallas with new ideas, new connections, and an even greater appreciation for the role that engaged and supported fathers can play in the lives of children and families.

There’s always more to learn, and I’m excited to bring some of these conversations and perspectives back home to North Carolina. 💙
