A few sheet metal parts I made recently. Some 80" rockers panels. And some seat mounts for a custom build. Note the little T on one of the seat mounts. That was my back gauge guide to bend. Just cut it off after bending. by @machinedform

Well, everyone says it's all in the details. Here's a few of my engine details. A friend sent me a picture of a 50s Lincoln valve cover. So I sanded the valve covers smooth for that Hemi look, and then designed these coil covers and had Evod machine them. Added some ribs for that old time hot rod look. I designed all new caps for oil, water, and ps.
Air filter housing is hand made and the small transition into the intake hose is 3d printed.

Check out the location of this upper ball joint. Gives you an idea of how tall the spindle is. Any of the suspension gurus out there know why? (hint: Google Mark VIII commercials from the 90s) by @machinedform

Well I got the front inner fenderwells back from the powder shop. Hammertone gray. Designed in Solidworks from the CAD model of the car. Then shaped them with my English wheel, pullmax, and a few hammer blows. I needed those hours beating on some metal. by @machinedform

So a number of years ago I had this idea to put a Lincoln Mark VIII engine and 4 wheel independent suspension under my 50 Mercury. Here's that idea in real life. I have so many hours in this project that I'm pretty sure I don't have a life outside of this. 3d scanned everything on the Lincoln and then designed my own chassis. Welded it all together, put the body on it, drove it 1200 miles, and then took it all apart to powdercoat everything. I think it's cool. by @machinedform

A short video showing the bottom of the body and how I used pressed in pemserts to allow mounting a variety of things from the top without any need to access the nut on the bottom. These were all pressed in before I welded the panels in. That took some planning to know where everything would be located. Also a bunch of welded in studs to locate the part of the wire harness that runs below the battery. (Battery cable, air ride, e-brake, and exhaust cutouts)
Pemserts are flush on top. They have little teeth that bite into the panel. If pressed properly, they are very strong.

I originally built this chassis table to weld my Merc frame together. Designed it to store on its own legs with wheels. Just took me 30 minutes to reassemble by myself. Nice to have when you need to weld something big. (Like a body cart for painting) by @machinedform

Sitting here Sunday morning looking over the chassis before I start disassembling it, I see all the custom 3D printed parts on this car. These are just a few. (sorry about the ugly red arrows)
Brake line clamps
Fuel line and fuel filter clamps
Wire separators
E brake cable holders
Air ride controller mount @air_lift_performance
The list goes on.

So some of the insanity is finished. Bottom of the car is bed lined and sprayed with 3m undercoat. Trunk is bedlined. Then sprayed the whole interior with @designenginc ATAC sound deadening. That stuff was easy to spray and water cleanup to boot. I will still put sheet sound deadener on top of that, but everything is coated and sealed up now. Tons of brackets, studs, and pemserts that had to be taped off. So glad all of that is done.

Somebody needs to tell me to stop already. Underside bedlined including the lower rockers. Finishing some work on the firewall. Next up some 3M sound deadening undercoating to make it as quiet as possible. by @machinedform

Making some progress on taking a perfectly good running car apart for paint.
Pic 5-6 show the hole in the trunk where the @air_lift_performance controller module comes though so you can see it and the stainless hard lines in the trunk.
Pics 7- show the @ronfranciswiring engine harness that comes through the floor with a custom bulkhead all in one piece. ECM lives under the front seat for easy access.
Some reassemble required now. by @machinedform
