After dark, everything softens. Design @machsstudio by @machsstudio
For this project, we explored warmth, texture and intention, balancing rich wood tones, layered lighting, curated art and comfortable moments of pause within a refined workspace. A design that feels calm, personal and lived in, while still remaining structured and functional. Interior Design & 3D Design Visualisation by @machsstudio . by @machsstudio
PROJECT: @guava.bar 🍸 Some projects come full circle. A few years ago, we designed Guava’s first home, a cocktail bar that quickly became known not just for its drinks, but for its atmosphere. So when it was time to move into a larger space, they came back to us to tell the next chapter of their story. The brief was beautifully simple: a maximalist speakeasy with a touch of tropical downstairs. From the very beginning, we wanted the space to feel like a discovery. One that slowly unfolds as you wander through it. Behind every archway is another story. A hidden library. A tropical powder room. Velvet lounges. Fringed chandeliers. Emerald walls that cocoon the room. A glowing bar waiting long before the first cocktail is poured. Every corner was designed to reward curiosity. One detail, however, was never up for discussion. The black-and-white checkered floors had become part of Guava’s identity in their original location, and the client insisted they make the journey into the new space. We loved that. Rather than recreating the past, we allowed the familiar pattern to become a thread that ties both spaces together, a quiet nod to where the story began while everything else evolved around it. Rich textures, layered lighting, handcrafted details, tropical botanicals, sculptural timber elements and deep jewel tones come together to create a space that feels intimate, theatrical and unapologetically immersive. Designing a brand once is rewarding. Being invited back to shape its evolution is an even greater privilege. Thank you, Guava, for trusting Machs Studio with your story, once again. And to @vickynwuche, thank you for believing in us, not once but twice. It’s been such a joy watching Guava grow, and an even greater joy getting to grow alongside it. You’re always a delight to work with, and we’re so grateful to have been part of this journey. ✨ by @machsstudio
Elevating African Aesthetic ✨ by @machsstudio
Some spaces don’t ask for attention. They earn it. #MachStudio #AfroContemporary #InteriorDesign #AfricanDesign #Craftsmanship by @machsstudio
Design is not always certainty, it is adaptation. We worked with what already existed and reimagined it through Afro-contemporary design and sustainability-led thinking. Transforming an abandoned train into a livable space pushed us into unfamiliar territory: curved geometries, unpredictable surfaces, and evolving site decisions. We learnt, unlearnt, and relearnt. For our team it wasn’t just another project, we expanded our range. We were forced to rethink sequencing, detailing, and execution in real time. Some decisions we would revisit differently , but every constraint became a lesson. New skills, new lessons, and a reminder that stepping outside comfort is where craft evolves. That is the @machsstudio way. by @machsstudio
A space shaped by texture, shadow, and stillness. Rooted in African materiality yet softened through contemporary form. by @machsstudio
A labor of love and a lot of sweat! Grateful to the hard-working crew who made this dream space a reality. Every tile, every brush stroke... we appreciate you! by @machsstudio
A quiet statement of power. Where craftsmanship meets intention, and every texture tells a story. Earth tones, sculpted forms, and light that lingers. This is more than a workspace, it’s an atmosphere. #MachsStudio #AfricanDesign #ModernLuxury #InteriorStory #DesignWithSoul by @machsstudio
Design is shifting and Africa is at the center of that shift. We’re no longer borrowing identity; we’re defining it. From architecture that responds to climate and culture, to interiors that tell deeper, more intentional stories, there’s a quiet but powerful rise happening across the continent. At MACHS Studio, we believe design should do more than look good, it should think, adapt, and serve. Spaces today must carry purpose, intelligence, and soul. Because the future of design isn’t just global, it’s distinctly African. by @machsstudio
