Destiny fulfilled! Completed no. 7 of the #7WondersoftheWorld as I witnessed the first rays of the sun caress #MachuPicchu this morning. The moment was awe-inspiring reminding me of the feeling I had seeing the Taj Mahal, Petra and the Pyramids of Giza the first time. Yes, Machu Picchu is up there with the OGs.

The long wait to complete my list, the long journey to Cusco and waking up sleepless at 4am was more than worth it. I’m walking on clouds.

⁨ אף אחד לא מדבר על זה-מאצ׳ו פיצ׳ו כמו מלכים😏

לא סתם אני מקדישה לזה פוסט כי זה באמת חור שחור בקרב רוב המטיילים בדרום אמריקה - איך להגיע למאצ׳ו פיצ׳ו?
חלונות פנורמיים, אוכל, נוף שנראה לא אמיתי, ורכבת שמרגישה יותר כמו מלון בוטיק על הפסים.
ובזמן שכולם מעלים תמונה מהיעד -

Relatos do Trekking Salkantay - Perú 🇵🇪

DIA 5 - Finalmente chegou o dia de conhecer Machu Picchu.🙌🏼
Subimos esse trecho de onibus, pois tive bolhas nos meus dedos dos pés e caminhar estava difícil...
Mas foi incrível!! 🥰
Que lugar… Que energia forte… 🙏🏼
Não tenho dúvidas de que chegar a Machu Picchu por trilha, ouvindo muitas histórias sobre o povo inca e sua cultura, saboreando a culinária peruana e conhecendo de perto um pouco das montanhas peruanas foi a melhor escolha que poderíamos ter feito! 🫶🏼
Foi lindo, intenso e mágico! ❤️✨

🎥ON L’A FAIT : NOTRE PREMIER TREK✨🥾

4 jours, 70 km, des sommets enneigés aux forêts tropicales, de la sueur, des courbatures… et une arrivée inoubliable face au Machu Picchu 🥹

Le Salkantay Trek, c’était un défi de taille :
🌧️ Pluie non-stop, vêtements trempés, nuits froides et humides
🥾 Des sentiers de folie, des paysages à couper le souffle
💪🏼 Des moments de doute mais surtout une fierté immense

Une aventure qu’on n’oubliera jamais. C’est intense, éprouvant physiquement et mentalement, mais ça valait le coup de se découvrir hors de notre zone de confort.

Salkantay Trek (5 days, 4 nights)

We did our Salkantay Trek with Machu Picchu Reservations and had the most amazing experience with an incredible group of people!

Our review ✅

Our guide, Juan, was the BEST guide we could have hoped for, getting us through the tough parts of the trek and making sure we had a lot of fun along the way, whilst teaching us about the history and culture of the mountains and people.

🍴 Food was delicious and plentiful
🏕️ Accommodation was great
🪩 Compared to some of the more expensive tours, it was a young and fun group bringing the vibes

Definitely the best value for money if you’re looking to do the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu!

What did we get up to?

We hiked through the Peruvian Andes to Laguna Humantay and the Salkantay Pass, and then into the tropical Amazon jungle through a coffee shop farm and some hot springs, before seeing Machu Picchu on the final day. You can find a very detailed day by day breakdown on their website.
