I've made it to Autosport ladies and gentlemen! Pick up your copy of Autosport this week to have a read. It's not how I originally thought my name would feature in Autosport when I started racing, but it's really awesome to write for this super magazine! #f1 #motorsport #formula1meme #f1racing #autosport #f1lovers #f1fan #f1fans #f1news by @maciekhamera11
That was so much fun! My first weekend commentating for the British Kart Championship was really enjoyable and I'd like to think my commentary was pretty good too! It was great to share my passion for the sport, especially the technical side of it but the post race interviews were my favourite part of the weekend, I hope I get to return soon! #karting #gokarts #racing #motorsport #racecardriver #kart #gokart #gokarting #karts by @maciekhamera11
🏆2022 Champions!🏆 It was absolutely awesome to win the Senior Rotax championship at Clay Pigeon last weekend after a season full of strong competition. A track that I've raced at since the very start of my racing career, it feels great to be written into the history books at what is my favorite track in the country. I would like to thank my family for the great work they've put in this year (especially my race engineer/ performance trainer/ head of race strategy i.e my Dad) this year as well as the support @kr_sport_official and @kr_sport_engines have given throughout the year. On a separate note, George Russell and Jenson Button won championships here so I'm in good company too... Winner at last! Last weekend saw the conclusion of both the Formula Vee championship and my first year racing cars and we came away with a pole position, a fastest lap and a win. It was a great weekend and could have been better still had a slight, erm, manoeuvre not gone wrong in the second race while I was leading but let's not get bogged down with the details of that. It was still a great end to what was a difficult year at times. Big thank you to the guys at AHS Motorsport i.e Alan, Jack, Shane, Steve and Dave for their help throughout the year. Your advice was always valueable and meant I could jump start my learning process. Thank you again. #racing #racingdriver #formulavee #motorsport #racer by @maciekhamera11
I believe I'm the first racing driver to mention the incredible @smithandsniff podcast after a race win. That deserves some recognition right @sniff_petrol and @jonnycarpervert? (If you guys are reading this, please keep up the great work. Your podcast is one of my favourite parts to my week.) For anyone else reading this, I'll do a proper race report tomorrow. It'll be more like an season review but whatever. I just realised I haven't posted anything in ages. Oh well. #racing #motorsport #racingdriver #formula #racecar by @maciekhamera11
Wow! I bought a new hat! Oh yeah, I was also in my first car race. Almost forgot to mention that. First ever race day at Donington Park and it was exciting. Qualified down the field in 20th after 2 red flags stopped me putting a flying lap in and I had to fight my way back up the field in both races. Finished 9th and then 8th so pretty happy with that on a grid of 27 cars. Look, the car isn't quick enough to win and my driving still has some tenths in it. Well, my starts have several seconds of improvement on the table but that's a discussion for another time. The point is that it was good fun and a nice start to the season but I'm already looking at some changes to move up the field. Oh and if you were interested about the hat I bought at the track, it's a 2000 Jos Verstappen Arrows F1 cap which I have already gotten very fond of. #racing #cars #motorsport #racingdriver #race by @maciekhamera11
Back after two years and yet it feels like I've never been away... Friday was a day of two halves as I got to grips with my Formula Vee machine at Donington Park. The morning saw me spin the car twice, get sideways down the Craner Curves and immediately wonder what the return policy for my brand new racing helmet was. Then I pulled myself together. As the sun started to set, I actually began to enjoy the car and the laptimes came down too. The oversteer became predictable, the understeer annoying but reassuring. Locked brakes here and there as I forgot to change the brake bias for the last session. I felt silly for that but at least I was pushing hard enough to feel the need for setup changes. It felt like I was finally driving the car rather than merely provding a suggestion to it to stay on the black stuff we call "the track". Still a little bit off the pace but that's a split between me and the car which isn't, and frankly won't be, the fastest on the grid. I have a lot of work ahead of me, not just at the track but at the workshop too. Still, it does feel good to be back. Honestly, I wonder how I've put up without being on a grid for this long... #racing #motorsport #motorsportuk #race #racecars by @maciekhamera11
Guess who passed his racing driver test today? That's right everyone, I'm back on track this year! A lot of firsts today during my ARDS test. First time driving Donington Park (great track, loved it), also first time driving an electric car, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. Very impressed by the car. Has a paddle shift gearbox and along with the simulated noise, can't tell it's electric (aside from the lack of engine vibration I suppose). If you're in the wrong gear, it won't pull so you have treat it right just like a petrol 'performance' vehicle. Things I didn't like? Well, it did feel big out on track and tall too. Didn't mess around with the seat enough but it felt like sitting in a van. I'm sure there was a lower seat position but wasn't my car. After all, it did win Top Gear's Car of the Year award in 2023 so what do I know? Anyway, what will I be racing this year? Sorry, that's a secret... #racing #motorsport #race #finally #weback by @maciekhamera11
Umm, hi... So it's been a while since I've posted and I just wanted to say I'm sorry about that. Between university and my journalism work, it's tough to manage everything and so my updates have been pretty sporadic. As a brief update, I was at the Autosport show last weekend for my first event of the year (as accredited media, fancy I know). Also I got to sit in a racing car which is always fun. Met some old friends too which was great and made some new ones. I wish I could tell you my plans for this year but everything's pretty up in the air. One day at a time... #karting #race #cars #driver #f1 #formulaone #racing #motorsport by @maciekhamera11
Donington Park part two So the rain came and ruined everything. Still, great to be writing for Autosport again even if there were only four races. Pick up a copy this Thursday, should be a good one... #motorsport #racing #race #cars #car #carfans #f1 by @maciekhamera11
Brutal weekend! Incredible four days at Snetterton working with Team Brit. Learnt a lot which I can take away to university. Still exhausted however. Got to work on McLarens though. Swings and roundabouts, I suppose. #racing #motorsport #race by @maciekhamera11
We are the problem, everyone should go out tomorrow and buy a Toyota GR of some description I can't believe the Nissan Juke is so high on the list, I'm so disappointed in the British public. Shame, shame on you. #cars #car #automotive #motorsportmeme #carlove #instacar #carsofinstagram #carlifestyle Photo credit: Nissan, Ford, Mitsubishi by @maciekhamera11
