Yesterday marked 5 years since our Dad joined the ancestors. 🕊️❤️

Arcell, Ron and I visited Ocean Calling in SF—a special place to connect with a loved one who has passed.

Talking to Dad was hard and very emotional for all three of us. Five years later, we still miss him so much. Our grief will never go away.

We spent the morning together—remembering Dad, picking out plants, having brunch at Tselogs, and of course grabbing Jollibee for Ryan on our way home.

Zebra Social 2026: After Saturday’s games, Tony treated me to dinner at In-N-Out Burger before we headed to the Zebra Social!

Such a fun night catching up with our zebra/zebraette families, grabbed a couple of selfies and enjoying a beer courtesy of Brian Nishimoto w/Kurt and Bob!

Huge KUDOS to Courtney and her Social committee for organizing such a fun evening, and to Ashley (fundraiser chair) for running the successful fundraiser and raffle! Great job, ladies!

Proud tournament recap ahead!🦓🏀

Tony and I hosted the 7th-grade boys division at the 49th San Jose Zebra Tournament - Labor Day Weekend

Our 2032B team didn’t have enough players to compete, but with eight teams already registered, we decided to keep the tradition going and host anyway! We had hosted before with Dani’s Zebraettes 2025G team, so we knew we could pull it off. The teams and coaches were incredibly understanding and supportive!

As team managers, Tony and I wore many hats. We handled gym and division coordination, I did the emceeing, and the portable scoreboard—officially a pro now! Tony handled scorekeeping on Saturday & Sunday, and together we made it happen!

We couldn’t run a concession stand, but thankfully the neighboring 11G/11B divisions had one.

Huge thanks to Edison (2025B), my 2025G co-president partner Tony Lau, Mark and Tracy Alicaya (2023G), Vincy and Jeannie (2027B), and the 11th-grade boys for helping us divide and conquer Saturday’s games. Mark also helped with the scoreboard after working as a referee. Thank you to Richard Nishitoyo for bringing the portable scoreboard, and to Simon and Evan for helping us clean up on Sunday!

Tony and I took care of the Sunday games.

Most importantly, thank you: SJ Ninjas, Sac Rebels, Sac Barons, Taisho, Sac Warlords, Rising Suns, SVBC & SF Associates families/friends who came out to support their players and coaches!

Looking forward to the big 50th next year!!!

Long post…because this mama has a lot of feelings tonight.

Today was the day I kinda dreaded…

We knew this was always Chloe’s plan after graduating from UH — come home, spend the summer with us, decompress after years of school, then head back to Hawaii to work and begin her next chapter.

As her mom, letting go isn’t easy. I’ll always worry, but more than anything, we are all so proud of her for following her plan and taking this next step.

We’re so grateful for the family and friends who have been part of her journey, supporting and loving her along the way.

She’ll always be our Cali girl, but it’s time. Go build your life, make new memories and enjoy this next chapter, Chlo Chlo.

We love you always!

And hey…now we have a good excuse to visit Hawaii!
