I don’t post much here anymore unless a cultural icon dies or friends have great projects that need promotion and other significant life events. And this is one of them. I bought this bottle of cologne when I moved to Los Angeles 20 years ago and I have finally used it all up. And I promised myself that when this bottle of cologne ran out I would leave California…So I am. In all seriousness, I’m leaving because it’s become too expensive and I’m not getting any work. I’ll be decamping to my aunt’s house in the mountains of Franklin NC. Not for a few months. But I hope to see all or some of you before then. And when I see you, trigger warning, I lost a front tooth on Sunday so prepare yourself. by @macoule30

Sam Harris would always bring intellectual luminaries onto his podcast and ask them if aliens made themselves known to us what human being, living or dead, should be our representative to them. They would always pick some hyper intellectual person like Newton or Einstein. But people like that are so socially awkward, I never thought they were good choices. My answer was always Dolly Parton. I can’t think of anyone more charming and representative of who we should all strive to be like. We have lost our ambassador today. by @macoule30
