A 100-point wine from one of Barossa’s most revered producers.⁠⁠The 2024 Standish vintage has attracted Erin Larkin’s highest scores for this range, including a rare 100 points for The Schubert Theorem. As Larkin notes: “The 2024 vintage in Barossa has yielded superb wines, with freshness, power and succulence reminiscent of the wines from the 2018 vintage.”⁠⁠Dan Standish is a sixth-generation Barossan who founded his eponymous label in 1999 while still working as winemaker at Torbreck. Before that, stints in the Rhône Valley, Spain and California sharpened a palate already formed by old vines his family had been farming since 1848.⁠⁠The wines are made at his estate at Light Pass, sourced from old-vine sites across Barossa and Eden Valley. Fruit purity and transparency of site are the stated ambitions, and the wines deliver exactly that. by @macphees.wine
