Hey, I’m Debbie, the person behind Macrame by Debs! Thought I’d take some time to introduce myself as there’s so many new people here, & some lovely familiar faces wondering where my love for macrame came from.

I’ve always been drawn to bohemian vibes right from a young age, the inner hippy & free spirit in me was calling! So when my son announced he was moving out to be with his girlfriend 🥹 We had a spare bedroom! 🤔 … Over dinner I boldly announced I’d be making it into my macrame studio!💡the manifesting began ✨

Fast forward… we redecorated with the most fabulous wallpaper in some of my favourite colours 🩷💚🤍 my son was definitely not coming back now 🤣

At first I was gifted some macrame sets, I researched a bit more, bought in some cord … AND then the magic happened 💫✨ I fell in love with my creative side, mindfully creating knot by knot, lost in the beauty of it, my soul had connected ☺️

I like to take my time creating, that’s where the magic happens ✨ accepting my new physical self & knowing when I’ve reached my limits is all part of my healing journey 💫
If someone had told me this time last year I’d be busy with my macrame creations I wouldn’t have believed them! My only focus then was rehab & getting stronger!

I gifted a lot to start with & the feedback was incredible 🫶
Nervous, I took the plunge, nothing ventured nothing gained & I started Macrame by Debs 🤍💫

Losing myself in the beauty of what I’m doing is a pretty special place to be ☺️
there’s a deeper connection, a state of mind, a flow of energy, a space in which I can translate what my soul is feeling. A place where I can transform my wounds into beauty. This is the therapy I never knew I needed✨

Macrame by Debs is evolving, I’m learning & growing, and so excited to see where it goes. I’ve connected with so many supportive people & I can’t thank you enough for your encouragement & love ❤️

Thank you for being here
Much love

A little macrame, a beautiful view and nowhere else to be… ✨🤍🌿

Back from a peaceful little break away in the beautiful Lake District, where the views were incredible and time seemed to slow down completely… ✨

Of course, I couldn’t resist a little bit of knotting whilst away 🪢🤍

This is how the making of one of my macrame hanging lanterns begins… just a few length of cord, a little patience and a handful of knots…

I’ve put together a reel showing a little more of the process so keep an eye out for that one ✨

With Christmas getting closer, I’ll soon be back in my garden studio, creating more macrame magic to bring warmth, texture, elegance and a gentle glow to your space ✨🤍💫

For now, have a lovely weekend

✨ Spotlight Wednesday | Small Business Love ✨

Some people make things, and some people pour a little piece of their soul into what they create. I think Debbie from @macrame_by_debs does exactly that. 🤍

Her macramé pieces are truly exceptional. The quality, the craftsmanship and the attention to detail are on another level, and you can see the love that goes into every single creation.

There’s something rather special about handmade pieces that bring us back to natural textures, beautiful materials and the simple pleasure of having something unique in our homes. Pieces that aren’t mass-produced or copied from the latest trend, but thoughtfully created to be treasured.

If you love meaningful, beautifully crafted home décor, please go and visit @macrame_by_debs. Take a look at her work, show her some love, and perhaps you’ll find a piece that feels like it was made just for your home. But fear not if you’d like a bespoke piece she will happily take commissions. 🌿

Small businesses are built on passion, countless hours of hard work and people who genuinely care about what they do. And that’s exactly the kind of business I want to celebrate here.

Please give Debs a little love today. She truly deserves it. 🤍
Love Tess

A little update from behind the knots …✨

With Christmas around the corner, star orders have already been steadily increasing here at Macrame by Debs ✨ and I’ve loved hearing your ‘why’ behind each and every special order 🤍

There has been lots of knotting happening in my little garden studio and sourcing the finer details to create a few new Christmas pieces whilst keeping your favourites from last year, I’m really looking forward to sharing more of this soon ✨

I wanted to say a huge big thank you to everyone who takes the time to like, comment and share my work, you’ve all been amazing at sprinkling so much love and kindness across my page, I’ll be taking some time to repay the love and see what you’ve been working on … 🫶

For those of you who have recently found your way here, hello…. you’re welcome to stay as long as you like ✨ I hope you’ll enjoy the slower rhythm, where creativity, connection and flowing knots gives you a moment to pause and breathe….✨🤍💫

This week I’m heading away to the Lake District for a short break, a place with so many fond memories of growing up, I can’t wait 🌿 taking a little time to slow down, recharge, soak up inspiration and catch up on the socials before heading into Christmas ✨

One last thing, I’d love to know… are you someone who thinks about Christmas early or do you wait until December? 💫🤍✨

Have a great week ahead lovelies

Lots of love

From an empty jar to a hanging lantern… macrame really does continue to amaze me ✨

Being self taught, I love intuitively finding my way with the cord, creating texture and shape, then adding in those finishing touches 💫

And the perfectionist in me has always had one simple rule ~ If I wouldn’t have it in my own home, I wouldn’t sell it ✨🤍💫

Handmade in @hello_bobbiny sparkling natural✨

I love that these beauties feature in another small business and are admired by so many others as they relax and enjoy a little ‘me’ time…. thank you @bodyandsoulcorsham for giving them a home 💫🤍✨

Would you have believed these started life as empty jars?

Perfect for Christmas gifting… or perhaps a little self treat ✨ drop me a message x

Creating that cosy space to come home to 🤎

As the evenings become cooler, I’ve been switching a few little details around here, bringing mocha and mauve macrame pieces into this cosy corner of the cottage ✨

And I love that this macrame vase doubles up as a lantern too, just add in your favourite candle and it completely changes the feel of your
space 🤎

What little changes are you making to make your home feel cosier this Autumn? I’d love to hear 🍂

Enjoy your week ahead 🫶

Sometimes it’s in the quietest moments that the most magical things happen ✨🌙

And somehow, a little piece of Macrame by Debs has found its way into Brionys beautiful world at @thefloralstudiobybriony in Calne ✨

I love everything about this place, and I was quite literally over the moon when Briony said yes! 🌙

Capturing her own unique artistic style, Brionys floral studio on Church Street, feels like stepping back in time into another world… filled with rustic vintage charm, timeless textures, romance and, of course, plenty of plants 🌱

I absolutely love how she has styled my macrame plant hangers in her cosy Autumn window display, creating a sense of calm and wonder by bringing together their gentle earthy tones with her textured, frilly pots, Briony is amazing, she can help you choose the perfect plant for your hanger and space 🌿🤎

If you haven’t yet stumbled across this magical little place, give her a follow, take a peek into Briony’s world and step inside her independent floral studio in the heart of Wiltshire ✨🌙

Alongside her intuitively created seasonal bouquets, frilly pots and plants, you’ll also find a carefully curated selection of beautiful pieces from other local artists ~ from candles, crystals and cards to artwork, journals and aromatherapy💫

It really is such a magical place, and I’m so happy to have a little piece of Macrame by Debs there, it really feels like the perfect fit ✨🤍💫

There’s something about creating with macrame that takes me somewhere else entirely… ✨

The noise quietens
My mind unclutters
And everything slows… I don’t always know where a piece is going, I simply feel my way through it…

Hi, I’m Debbie

If a slower rhythm, the beauty of handmade and the gentle art of macrame feels like you, you’re welcome here ✨

A place for creativity, natural textures, flowing knots and pieces made slowly with connection✨

And if you’re already here, I hope this little corner of the world gives you a moment to pause and breathe…

Lots of love x ✨🤍💫

Home is a feeling that you carry with you 🫶

This beautiful @hello_bobbiny Laurel blue macrame cord was chosen to echo memories of a coastal home by the sea 🌊

Handmade slowly and thoughtfully in my timeless, elegant cottage style, with soft natural textures and flowing knots, this plant hanger will be making its way to a new home very soon✨

This really is what I love most about creating with connection…

The conversations and stories that you share, knowing that I’m hand making a special gift that carries meaning and a little piece of someone else’s story ✨

How are we already at the end of September, time is flying by!
I’m starting to think about my own Christmas gifting, and if you’re beginning to wonder what to gift that plant lover in your life, perhaps something handmade, personal and made especially for them might just be the thing 🫶

Have a great week ahead x

Some things are made to be held close ✨

I started making these sparkling macrame stars this time last year, as a way to remember my beautiful mum 🥹

Channelling my love and loss into creativity, and turning something so deeply personal into something so beautiful…. I hung one up in my window at Christmas ✨

Little did I know then, that they would come to mean so much more to so many others 🙏

My star still hangs in my window, because to me, sometimes the smallest things, hold the biggest feelings ✨🤍💫

Have a wonderful weekend lovely people….

Autumn officially arrived…. there’s something so beautiful about sinking into the art of letting go of what was, and gently leaning into what is 🤎

There’s a quiet exhale with the changing season, reminding us that we don’t have to hold onto everything. Some things are meant to soften, to shift, to make space for something new…

And perhaps that’s what I love most about bringing nature into our homes..

The earthy colours and natural textures that ground us, bringing a sense of calm and connection to the spaces we live in 🤎

My Autumn collection of macrame plant hangers has been created with that feeling in mind…

Gently curated with earthy pots, vintage nude, warm caramels, mocha and muted Eucalyptus... elegant timeless pieces with beautiful textures and an unhurried feel, creating a home for you to simply be 🤎

I’ve been holding onto some really exciting news… and I really can’t wait share this with you in the next couple of days 🫶

Enjoy soaking up that Autumn glow 🍂
