WOMEN’S* PHL TRI🏅

This training season was an extremely difficult one for me: navigating health issues, loss, a busy work season, and not to mention hot, hot HEAT. ☀️ Mastering swimming was difficult (I started out not being able to swim even 30m without a break), not to mention the combination of all three back to back. I had to dnf my “simulation” training half way through the run leg due to heat exhaustion. I considered deferring to next year more than once (many times actually), but alas here we are ~

Sometimes I think the harder the training, the better the race experience🤷🏻‍♀️

I wanted to be so much more prepared and kept wishing I could have done this training “right” (whatever that means). But what an incredible reminder that if you can get out of your HEAD you can accomplish anything. And when you start to doubt yourself: rely on your people and your community and they willl remind you of your TOUGHNESS and RESILIENCE

…now once I get over this runner’s flu, catch me back in the lap lane😜🏊🏻‍♀️

*yes I participated in a majority women’s event but I am nonbinary and use they/she pronouns :)

✨Reading so far in 2026✨

Started strong with some Orwellian Fiction because nothing feels more relevant in these times, followed by a cozy translated read and a long one I was finally able to complete. Rounding it out with my favorite read so far this year: Ocean Vuong’s incredible poetic memoir, which I really took my timeeee with, savoring each sentence.
