I was so happy to reunite and celebrate this moment with the best crew!! We walked the red carpet our canadian tuxedos!! 👖🩵 I wore a custom made denim set from @commissionofficial styled by @miyakobellizzi @merveeltemur 💙

On the plane to TIFF and thinking about how grateful I am to all the Torontonians that welcomed me with open arms 5 years ago, for a retrospective of my work that they called URL: IRL.

THANK YOU (it was on Thanksgiving lol) to the KFab programmers for feeling I was worthy enough to bring out a percolating, dormant community, Greg Stewart for a place to stay and all the amazing local cinemaniacs who turned out, tuned in and got all the filmmaking juices flowing ❤️🎞️

It makes sense that I would feel at home here. Marshall McLuhan is the guiding light for many of my formal ideas and "Cronenberg on Cronenberg" has got to be amongst the most inspiring filmmaker interview books of all time.

In 1983, TIFF (which was then called "The Festival of Festivals") held a retrospective of Cronenberg's work, the first time they had focused so deeply on a Canadian director's body of work. The independent spirit wins. Okay just landed in YYZ -- see you soon Toronto!

P.S. The monkey at the end is from Buster Keaton's "The Cameraman." I promised everyone who had come to all 4 of the movies I'd take them to see the silent classic the next day. After the film and the lecture on the capuchin performer, things really got going over pierogis. by @madabouteug

Can only use IG when I exercise now LoL so I had to do 40 squats to announce that V͜͡I͜͡N͜͡T͜͡A͜͡G͜͡E͜͡ ͜͡V͜͡I͜͡O͜͡L͜͡E͜͡N͜͡C͜͡E͜͡ is premiering at TIFF Midnight Madness this September👖🍥 I'm so pumped to share this movie with the world!

All I can promise is a wild ride of pure 🎞️ by the coolest cast and crew on both sides of the Pacific! Truly so grateful to all the absolutely legendary cinemaniacs in 🇯🇵 and 🇺🇸 who made this a reality– starting with @SpacemakerProductions who originated the idea with me!

Huge thanks to @tiff_net and @peterkapow for championing the film. A total 🤯❤️🤯 moment for me -- feeling lucky -- sending love! by @madabouteug
