at one point the flowers in the garden
were all shriveled and lifeless,
petals drooping and weary.
it was a daunting task to fix all that had somehow gone wrong.
that is, until i invited the Great Gardner in.
together we sat and tilled the soil.
He showed me the best ways to sew the new seeds.
He helped me water the roots.
i let Him mend the brokenness.
we watched the slow and steady growth as we watered the flowers and tended to them.

You may feel that your life is in ruins. You may have sinned. You may be afraid, angry, grieving, or tortured by doubt. But just as the Good Shepherd finds His lost sheep, if you will only lift up your heart to the Savior of the world, He will find you.

He will rescue you.

He will lift you up and place you on His shoulders.

He will carry you home.

My sweet brother @jace_mcarthur00 is serving a mission in Ohio speaking Swahili, an African language. Jace has sent many photos of sweet African mothers swaddling their babies to their backs while they do their daily tasks.

I was inspired to draw this because of the love the mothers have for their children. Just like they carry their babies on their backs, our Savior carries us whenever we feel like we cannot go on any longer. His love, atonement, & sacrifice is enough to carry us to our heavenly home. 🌅 by @maddieiris.art

“peace, be still”

fear.
doubt.
sorrow.
hopelessness.
anger.
they flood all of my senses.
the others around me feel it too,
their cries echo my own.
how can it get better from here?
the waves rise higher,
the storm rages louder,
and I ache for the memory of calm seas.

but then,
I remember.
the one who spoke this sea into being
sits beside me.
the maker of wind and sky,
the master of every storm,
is here, in this fragile boat.

how could I forget?
He who commands the waves
also calms the storm within me.
He does not leave.
He stays.
and with a word,

recently, one of my best friends lost her sweet babe, Honey Elise, just months before she was due ❤️‍🩹💛 my heart just aches for her and her husband. one thing that I love about art is that it can capture feelings that words sometimes can’t. this piece is my small way of honoring Honey’s beautiful spirit, her parents’ deep love for her, and the knowledge that families are forever 🌼✨ by @maddieiris.art
