September is Suicide Prevention Month. 🤍

This month is really personal to me because there was a point in my life, especially after my junior year of high school, where I never imagined I would be where I am today. There were times when I couldn’t picture a future for myself, and honestly, I didn’t think I would get to experience the life I’m living now.

But I’m here.

I’m in college. I’m meeting new people, making new friends, going out, laughing until my stomach hurts, making memories, and living a life that I once couldn’t even imagine for myself. I get to wake up and experience new things, make mistakes, grow, love, laugh, and figure out who I am. Sometimes I look around at my life now and think about the version of me who didn’t think she would make it here, and I wish I could go back and tell her, “Please just hold on. You have no idea how beautiful your life is going to become.”I’m so grateful I stayed. I’m grateful for every person who helped me through the moments I didn’t think I could handle, and I’m grateful for the chance to become the person I am today. If you’re in that place right now, I know it may feel impossible to believe, but your life can change in ways you can’t even imagine yet. There are people you haven’t met, memories you haven’t made, places you haven’t been, and versions of yourself you haven’t discovered yet.Please stay. Your story isn’t over.
