On Valentine’s Day, our sweet Paw Paw, Floyd Whitworth, was called home to be with Jesus. While it feels to us like a tragic accident, I believe there are no coincidences, especially not in death. Since the day our Maw Maw passed he has wanted to be with her and today, he is. I imagine she said that she wouldn’t face another Valentine’s Day without him and Jesus agreed.

Our Paw was one a million. He endured more sadness than any human should in his life but most importantly he gave more love and grace than any other human I know. He was patient, never raised his voice, was smarter than most and knew how to do everything, and gave the most gentle and best hugs in the world. We are all so much better for knowing him and having him love and guide us through life.

While I’m heartbroken that he can’t live forever, I’m thankful for the 90 years that he lived and for 27 years I got with him. More than anything, I’m grateful that he is holding Maw with Nannie, Randy, Jay and Sean. There’s no better angel to have looking out for us than Floyd Whitworth 🤍 by @maddieruthcooper
