Sunday's Slow 8k Beach Skate went from Broadbeach to Main Beach and back. We had a great turnout, all ages, abilities and wheels; with people coming from as far as Brisbane and Lismore - and Charles just back from a visit to the UK skate scene!

Lots of skate style diversity was on show at the beach skate; with park skating moves from Josh, slalom from Barry, and the distinctive UK chop and shuffle backwards skate style from Maddison.

Highlights included monkey bars on skates, a long rolling train (conga) through Surfers, roller limbo, and Kayleigh doing handstands on skates! The night ended with some of us having a social dinner at Broadbeach's Chiangmai Thai.

Last Sunday’s Slow 8k Beach Skate again had skaters come from as far as Brisbane and Lismore, including someone from the Melbourne skate scene! Our skate friends included faces we know from RollerFit, Rollerworld, Rollerama, and other rinks, skateparks and rollouts. As well as being all abilities and ages, it was all wheels; with a longboarder and a scooter, joining skaters on derby/speed skates, trad roller skates, aggressive inlines, big wheel blades, and rockered slalom inlines.

We do slow beach skates every 3rd week, alternating between the southern and central Gold Coast. This Sunday the Gold Coast Rollout goes to Murwillumbah for a Mother's Day Sunset Community Skate!
