and special shoutout to the folks at @theperch_musicandarts_workshop for welcoming us into their space for our rehearsal process!! 💖 by @maddy.gillespie

after many months of planning, acts of resistance finally happened last week and it was more incredible and heartening than i ever could’ve hoped for. the reading and discussion raised $3,330 for UNRWA USA and the art market raised $1,148 for Gaza Soup Kitchen, the total amount raised for humanitarian aid in Palestine being $4,478. our goal was $3,000!!

on top of exceeding our fundraising goal, i was so deeply moved by the energy, community, and discussion that we all found during the reading portion of the evening, especially. hearing each piece out loud and witnessing the audience’s reactions and reflections was such a gift. i feel so honored that people showed up and shared themselves with such generosity and care. after the reading, we all had the privilege of experiencing the art market together as discussions continued, art was purchased, and connections were made.

from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single person who attended and everyone listed below for helping make this event happen. you mean the WORLD to me!!
