Chicago was absolutely unhinged and obviously so was I. Its amazing the things we can push ourselves through mentally and physically.

The coolest thing about almost dying during a completely voluntary event was all the support you recieve. Not just in my text threads either. Everytime I stopped to walk, another runner tapped me, encouraged me, offered up a "no mam, you got this let's go". I genuinely wouldn't have finished with out that.

Anyway... which race should I do next? 😝

Being a girl is so fun because what do you mean we get to have a 26.2 mile long catwalk for our little fashion show?

The best way I have found to avoid pre race jitters is to apply copious amounts of glitter instead of warming up.

Chicago, did we just become best friends?!

This race was the best (fun) and worst (physical pain) experience I've ever had. Thank god for the electricity of this city and the countless biofreeze stations. Despite the absolute sh*tshow that is my right leg, I had SO MUCH FUN exploring the city on foot today. Just wow. I will never get over it.

More of a recap coming soon but I just wanted to pop on to provide signs of life and to say thank you x1000 to everyone who dm'd, texted, posted, sent prayers, everything. I needed the support this go round and you all showed up for me today. ❤️

Extra thanks to my husband, Josiah and @andrearibelin for chasing me around the big city today and putting up with my bs always.

Heading to bed with sore legs, a shiny new medal from a WORLD MAJOR and a full heart.

IT'S HAPPENING.

I can't believe I will be running a World Major Marathon tomorrow. Such a big pinch me moment for the girl who used to play sick instead of running a mile in P.E.

This training block has been challenging in so many ways but it is going to make crossing that finish that much sweeter.

So anyway, Chicago, whaddddaya say we do the damn thing tomorrow?!

The DITL of a Taper-Crazy Marathon Mama 💕

As someone without a single "chill" bone in her body, this week always hits hard for me. It hits a little harder this time around because I have to be extra cautious to avoid irritating my knee any more than it already is.

So prepare for a lot of yoga, "resting", red light and snack content because that's about the only things I got going on til 26.2 ✌️
