THE SIDEWALK GODS HAVE TRULY BLESSED ME!!! What started off as a casual afternoon walk around Point Richmond to find the Fairy 🧚 Houses that my good friend Rachel over at @littlehillrealestate @thelittlehill had told me about quickly turned into one of my all time greatest finds!!

A wonderful women named Marie had just put this stunning 19th Century Victorian Couch out on the curb and we caught her just as she was about to post it on Craigslist, timing was AMAZING! I've been on the lookout for a couch for the studio and finding this felt as if the stars had aligned. It's in incredible condition, and looks incredible in my studio space.

Couldn't have done it without my partner in crime @apracticeinmemory this thing was not easy to get up 3 flights of narrow stairs but we did it!

I truly live for moments like this, moments of human connection, finding something you never thought you'd own, sharing these moments with people you love. Planning on swinging back my Marie's soon to give her a nice framed print of my as a small token of my gratitude. Thanks for watching ❤️

DANNYD TOP 10 PHOTOS OF 2025

Happy New Year to everyone! 2025, by far the biggest year of growth and change for me, I moved away from home for the first time in Feb, packed up all my stuff and moved from Upstate NY to the Bay Area. A move with an incredible amount of challenges and I am so proud of myself for continuously figuring things out. I’m proud of myself for listening to my gut and taking this step, 2025 brought so much growth in my creative practice and I feel ready to tackle 2026. Currently working hard bts to plan more video content for 2026. I love sharing photos with you all, but my main goal this year is to focus on creating more short and long form video content that incorporates my photo work, behind the scenes of shoots/projects, the editing process, etc.

Getting MY OWN ART STUDIO in the next week and a half or so and I can't wait to have my own dedicated space to create, learn, fail, and I want to share all of that with you. Stoked to have a creative hub to create and film in. Lots more to share, but you’ll see it all soon, truly something I’ve dreamed about for years.

I created ALOT of work this year, photo and video, personal and client. I wanted to do a "Top 10” of my personal work and it felt like an impossible challenge. Moving to California lit a spark in me and I shot more than ever this year, I constantly had a camera on me, and photographed my new home daily. This is a loose Top 10, but I think these photos are a good representation of my work and 10 of my strongest pieces. I did not intend to have all Top 10 photos be shot in CA but, it's been so lovely spending most of the year off the road and getting to explore out here. Some photos in here I never even posted but after going back through all my work, I knew they had to make the cut.

To everyone who has supported me out here this year, I can't thank you enough. Special shoutouts to Sam and Jessica, and to Joel for letting me live with you when I first got here. And huge thank you to Jon and Linda from @freddies.shoppe for taking a chance on me and giving me such an incredible opportunity there.

🎉MY FIRST ART STUDIO TOUR!!!!!🎉

In case you missed it, I recently got my very first art studio space and I couldn't be more happy!! This spot is truly a dream come true, I have wanted my own space for years and it just was never on the cards at the time. But this popped up the other week and after seeing it in person I fell in love. SO HERE'S A LITTLE TOUR!! I got some cool stuff!

Stilll lots of work to be done, figuring out the pieces as I go. But I've already been spending a lot of time here and it's been so good for me. Just got a ton of framing tools in and hoping to start getting some prints frame soon! Excited to create more in this space, this is a huge step for me and my career and I can't wait to see what it leads to!

Thanks for the support always, couldn't have gotten here without it ❤️❤️

FINALLY GOT TATTED BY MY MAN @plantstaretattoo ❤️

Stopped by @thorns.tattoo a few weeks back and got this new lil guy from the homie Jake over there and couldn't be more happy with how it came together. Me and Jake are from the same area out in Upstate NY and after meeting him through friends a few years ago I've been wanting to get a piece by him. Incredibly talented tattoo artist, painting, drawer and blessed to have gotten this done! Huge fan of Jake's style and when he asked if I had any ideas, I knew i wanted one of his Snoofy guys with a lil film camera.

This was also my first time into the studio! Thorns Tattoo has crafted an incredible space that feels welcoming and safe ❤️ Meeting everyone over there was a pleasure and with the amount of talented artists working in a variety of different styles, there's something for everyone.

ONE OF MY NEW FAVORITE CAMERAS TO SHOOT ON! Originally released in 1983, the Fuji GS645 is such a joy to shoot on. A medium format 120 rangefinder featuring foldout bellows, I've been loving shooting on it since acquiring it from Japan back in April. I've run quite a few rolls through it now, love the compact size and that it folds down as it's made it a great camera to explore and travel with. And not to mention, getting 15 frames a roll compared to the 12 on my Mamiya C3, every shot counts!!

Wanted to share some of my favorite shots from the past few months. Photos taken in Lake Tahoe, Los Angeles, The Bay Area, Montecito, and an Amtrak ride from LA to Oakland. And i do believe these were all shot on @kodak Portra 400 (now named Ektacolor)

Processes and scanned by the friends over at @royalwefilmlab who I've been trusting with all my film developing & scanning the past few months and couldn't be happier. If you're local to Oakland/East Bay Area, highly recommend checking them out!

Have now spent a few months getting to know my FujiGS645 Pro and have been loving it! Perfect lil travel medium format camera and I really do love how the viewfinder/camera is vertical oriented. Thankful to get 15 shots a roll, as this thing has got me shooting a lot more 120 lately. And think i finally am getting good with the rangefinder!

Wanted to share some of my faves I've shot since getting this camera. All film Developed and Scanned by the friends over @royalwefilmlab

Locations shown include: Montecito CA Lake Tahoe, Reno NV, Los Angeles CA, various places along the 12 hour Amtrak ride from LA to Oakland, San Francisco & more! Very proud of what I've been shooting lately, thanks for looking ❤️

MY FIRST WEDDING SHOT ENTIRELY ON FILM! Earlier this year, my friend @grazcandland reached out to me asking if I could shoot her wedding in Montecito, CA in April. The only catch? Her and her now husband Tim wanted to me just shoot film. I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little nervous as there's so many factors when shooting something like this and not seeing the results til after. Along with this being only my second wedding I've shot. But I couldn't be happier with how these came together!

I can't thank Grace & Tim enough for having me out to capture their special day, truly an incredible experience and what a pleasure getting to meet all their friends and family and to feel the love. The @montecitoorchard was also such a wonderful venue to capture. And huge thank you to @royalwefilmlab in Oakland for developing and scanning 33 rolls of film (had dropped some personal rolls off along with these) so happy with how these came out.

THE ART OF VINTAGE PHOTOGRAPHY ADS. And if you ask me, truly a lost art! A few years ago my uncle gave me a bunch of 'American Photographer' magazines from the 80's & 90's. I love going through them, not only is the work in them incredible, but what I really enjoy is all the old ads featured throughout. Seeing how they marketed all this new technology in an era where innovation was constantly being pushed. A time where it felt like each company was really pushing the boundaries of what a camera could be & what it could do.

The design & phrasing on these is just something you don't see in current day photography ads. This was a peak era of film photography, where each company was competing against one another and they were gonna do what they could to sell that to you. I took some time the other day to scan some of my favorites so I can share them all with you.

What do y'all think? Should camera companies start making ads like this again? I personally would love to see more like this taken in El Cerrito by @madebydannyd

I recently acquired my first Leica camera!!!! I needed to run a test roll through to see how it was working and what a better place to do it than at the ball park! As a lifelong Mets fan, when I saw they were playing the Giants on Easter, I knew that was the time to try it! AND METS WON!

This is the Leica C1, sold between 1999 & 2001 with about 60,000 units produced. Perfect daily point n shoot that I got from my new friend Dan, who I met the other week. He told me he was looking to off load a bunch of his camera collection and let me come over and go through it all. Got some good stuff I'll share soon. So stoked it's working PERFECTLY, with no light leaks or other issues. Had been on the lookout for a new point n shoot and couldn't be more excited about scoring this one.

Shot on @kodak Portra 160, developed and scanned by @royalwefilmlab and couldn't be happier with their work over there. Local lab based in Oakland, highly recommend.
