This year, I aim to utilise this platform with more purpose and intention. To be able to shed light, empower and inspire fellow aspiring all around creatives, like myself. Particularly within an industry that would overlook and underestimate our capabilities. I want to highlight a woman who has BEEN killing it, in every creative aspect. Filmmaker, designer, DJ, creative consultant. @vashtie I first was introduced to her work, after she’d released her own Jordan 2 Retro ‘Violette’ back in 2010. Making her the first woman to collaborate with the Jordan brand. Paving the way for more women in the industry to do the same. Notably including @melodyehsani and @alealimay. Who have inspired a generation of women, to want to design. This definitely opened my eyes to more designers within the industry. Particularly within the product design space. She still remains to be someone in the culture who inspires me to be able to “do it all”. Because we CAN and we should never feel like we can’t.
