Art after hours ~ guests staying at the Benesse had access to the gallery and museums until 11pm.

Not only did it feel like we did a hundred things in one day but seeing art and architecture during the late hours was such a unique experience. Quiet, private, the atmosphere was a little spooky but so so peaceful.

Naoshima ~ a trip of a lifetime

Japan’s iconic art island full of architecture and design at every corner. Surrounded by installations, underground museums, and nature as part of the work. At the same time, we mostly biked everywhere and visited small family owned restaurants (often run by one cook!) - it was all SO healing and so good for the soul.

Starting off with the Chichu Art Museum featuring artists Claude Monet, James Turrell and Walter de Maria, and onto the Tadao Ando Museum.

Thankful to the best partner ever !!! for planning the itinerary, for being my Japanese tutor, my personal photographer, and being part of the most memorable trip 💌 @bluu.rock
