We cannot tell you how much we debated making this move and how long it’s actually taken us to make this move. 🥹 We’ve been WanderingInYYC for just over 6 years now and it’s been a blast! But like all good things, it’s time to move forward, and that’s why we’re changing our name. WanderingInYYC started as two people sharing the city we love. Somewhere along the way, it became so much more than that. You guys started wandering with us, we started travelling more, trying more, sharing more of our lives, and slowly we realized the name just didn’t fit everything we wanted this little corner of the internet to become anymore. Calgary isn’t going anywhere. It’s home. ❤️ We’ll still be sharing the restaurants we love, date nights, events, things to do, cheap finds and all the random Calgary discoveries we make along the way. But we also want to take you outside the city with us. On Alberta road trips, across Canada and around the world, without pretending you need a luxury travel budget to have some pretty incredible experiences. So after 6+ years, we’re saying goodbye to WanderingInYYC and hello to @madeforallwanderers 🥹 Same Shabina and Adi. Same Calgary roots. Just a name that finally gives us a little more room to wander. And if you’ve been here since the early WanderingInYYC days, thank you. If you found us somewhere along the way, thank you. And if you’re brand new here… you picked a pretty good time to join us. 😂 There is SO much we want to do with Made for Wanderers, and this really does feel like the beginning of something new. 🏔️ Here's how we'd spend 48 hours in Waterton. If we were planning a couples getaway to Waterton all over again, this is exactly what we'd do. 🐴 Horseback riding with Alpine Stables 🦬 Drive Bison Paddock Road 💦 Visit Cameron Falls ☕ Grab coffee at Windflower Cafe 🫖 Afternoon Tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel 🏔️ Explore Red Rock Canyon 🏨 Stay at Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort One of the things we loved most about Waterton is that it feels different from other mountain towns. It's quieter, slower paced, and the perfect place to disconnect for a few days. One tip: visit Red Rock Canyon early in the morning or later in the evening. 48 hours in Fernie, part two, for when you’re not just tired, you’re done 😴 4PM: slowing down on purpose with the Finnish sauna and outdoor whirlpool at @spa901 (book ahead!). We were so relaxed we fell asleep in the lounge 7PM: date night at the cutest little retro theatre, @voguetheatreferniebc . It feels like stepping back in time (check their schedule!). Monday: a bike ride around Annex Park, then brunch round two at @whitebirchbistro The smoked salmon Benny was a 9/10, the truffled mushroom Benny was a 10/10, and we couldn’t pick a favourite Also loved: @yamagoya_sushi (get the Jumbo Dynamite Roll). This is our entire Iceland Ring Road trip, stop by stop, all the way around the island 🇮🇸 Share this with whoever you’re planning your next big trip with 👇 🌊 Golden Circle We started just outside Reykjavík with Öxarárfoss in Þingvellir National Park, then the impossibly blue Brúarfoss and the sheer power of Gullfoss. 💧 South Coast Seljalandsfoss, then Gljúfrabúi tucked inside a gorge just a short walk away, Skógafoss, and the black sand and sea stacks of Reynisfjara. 🧊 Southeast The mossy cliffs of Fjaðrárgljúfur, icebergs drifting through Jökulsárlón, and Vestrahorn reflecting perfectly on the beach at Stokksnes. 🌿 East Stuðlagil Canyon, where the turquoise river runs between walls of basalt columns. ♨️ North Dettifoss, often called the most powerful waterfall in Europe, and the steaming vents of Hverir near Mývatn. ⛰️ Snæfellsnes We saved Kirkjufell for the end, with a few curious Icelandic horses saying hi along the way. 🚐 Our biggest tip is to do it in a campervan. Having our home on wheels meant we could pull over whenever the view asked us to, and in Iceland that happens constantly.
