My cnc router has been without a 4th axis for awhile. Decided to revive the 13 year old Doughty drive. Its a high torque extremely accurate harmonic drive. New design and get to cut the adapter out with the new fiber laser.

Been collaborating with Jake over at @madeformedieval for about a year on this table from The Acolyte.
I handled the design + CNC files, and Jake cut the large-format parts on his monster CNC setup. Now we’re finally at the assembly phase.
We didn’t have much to go off, mostly blurry screenshots and partial angles, but I think we got really close to the on-screen feel. Jake also pushed his version further with an adjustable height setup, which turned out seriously next-level.
If anyone here is working on screen-accurate builds and needs help translating references into clean, production-ready CAD/CNC files (or full build support), that’s exactly what I do. Always open to collaborating on the next piece. by @madeformedieval

Pretty amazing to see how much the latest AI models have pushed this forward. I’m now able to use regular single-camera video, extract motion from it, rebuild that movement as a 3D skeleton, and turn it into animation data for robotics training. In plain English: taking flat video and turning it into 3D motion a robot can learn from.
