My work flows from a fascination with
water as a language of identity, memory,
and belonging. To me, water is never still
—it carries stories, cultures, and the
traces of those who came before us.
Immersing in it feels like slipping into
something both deeply personal and
universal, where the self dissolves and
becomes part of a larger whole.
Water is never just water. It is memory,
mythology, and emotion flowing
together. It guides my colours, my
glazes, my symbols—shaping each work
into a kind of dreamscape, an invitation
to step closer and wander within.

Some places never really leave you…
“The Shape of Summer” emerged from long summer days on Favignana, where the sea shimmered in endless blues and every current seemed to carry echoes of ancient worlds. Inspired by moments at Lido Burrone, Consuelo drifts through those remembered waters—weightless, radiant, suspended between memory and myth.

Beneath the surface, water becomes a timeless archive, holding traces of those who came before while reflecting who we are today. As in the AEQUOREAL series, it is both mirror and passage—where the boundaries between self, history, and myth dissolve beneath the same timeless sea.

I’ve been keeping a little secret…

For the past few months I’ve been researching, experimenting, and working quietly behind the scenes. Today, I’m finally at the point where I can begin creating a new body of work for my ongoing Aequoreal series.

Seeing these cyanotypes come to life in water feels incredibly special. I can’t wait to share where this new direction takes me.

The final layer is always my favourite. As the varnish settles, the colours deepen and the surface begins to breathe. Almost like watching light return to water.

“Blue’s Embrace” is a meditation on memory, longing, and the way certain places remain with us long after we’ve left them.
