This sweet family had a little brother join their crew! I loved adding him in 💙 by @madeline_stitches

Hi friends! Thank you for the messages about opening my shop! Even though orders won’t be produced and shipped by Christmas, I wanted to open back up and make gift cards available so those interested can gift shop credits for Christmas. That way you can gift someone a code that will let them create their own custom cross stitch with me, and personalize it the way they’d want to! Message me with any questions and THANK YOU for your patience during my move & wrist injury. Oh 2020, people. Bring on New Years 😉 I’ll be working through my Wait List ASAP, message me to be added or for an update on where you’re at in the queue! by @madeline_stitches

Pandemic + moving + no school + painting my house for hooooours equals a serious time warp. Is summer over? When did it start? What does your fall look like? My goodness this year has done a number on us all. But just wanted to say HI from Fort Collins, our new home!! by @madeline_stitches

We just bought our first home, and it needs new paint on every inch of it — which makes me excited EXCEPT when will I stitch?? Project time is so short when you’ve got little ones. Someday I’ll have plenty of spare time and I’ll miss them... but it doesn’t keep me from going just a little crazy right now 😉 by @madeline_stitches

My husband wants chickens. Maybe when I finally get around to updating our own stitch, I’ll have to add my baby who’s almost not a baby anymore 😭 AND some feathered friends. And maybe a dog. Oh man. #changeiscoming by @madeline_stitches

I had a realization today that sometimes I feel bothered when I live up to some internal bar I’ve set for what makes you a great mom, then when my little boys don’t seem to recognize or appreciate that I hit that bar (homemade strawberry jam last minute before lunch, I mean, I’m killing it, right?) then I’m annoyed.

The kicker is, they don’t know why I’m annoyed. Sometimes I don’t even know why I’m annoyed. Or recognize that I’ve let myself become annoyed. But today I realized what had happened. What did THEY actually need from my time today? Did I make the strawberry jam for them, or did I do it because I always thought that’s what a great mom does? Would they have rather had a story?

Heaven knows we don’t need another thing to be hard on ourselves about. This is me realizing a way I need to be a little easier, on both me and my kids. Take away the expectations. Remove the “supposed to” thoughts, and just SEE what makes them feel happy and loved. What makes you feel happy and loved. Then go be that with a freedom from all you thought you had to be, for all the reasons that don’t actually matter. You’re doing better than you think you are. by @madeline_stitches

If only stitching really happened this fast! This wedding dress is far from finished but here’s a little time lapse of starting the silhouette. by @madeline_stitches

My son’s sweet teachers. They love their kindergarteners like they’re their own children, and those students truly feel that love even from a distance right now. What’s a way you’ve found to help your teachers feel appreciated through all this? I feel so sad for all the classrooms missing out on the most fun part of the year. by @madeline_stitches

My family is currently figuring out moving during this crazy corona time. Cross stitching is my pause from thinking about big changes and big unknowns! How early do you pack up your boxes before a move? We’re just over a couple months from go time and I’m thinking I can’t avoid it much longer... by @madeline_stitches

What’s your happy place during this strange isolated time? I’m loving the (currently free) @downdogapp for yoga — and I’ve never been a yoga person. It’s just that kind of month. by @madeline_stitches

This family and their gorgeous hair! My boy-mom life has me spending too much time with clippers and YouTube. And worms and turtles, but those aren’t related. by @madeline_stitches

A toddler obsessed with dinosaurs. A rainbow baby. 🌈❤️
The details a friend wanted to be somehow incorporated into this gifted stitch made me grateful to be a part of the process. I think we sometimes underestimate or write off what little thoughtful kindnesses can do for someone. If you need a reminder of that, one of my new favorite follows is @tinykindnesses. I feel like it’s teaching me how to see opportunities for kindness in a whole new light. by @madeline_stitches
