Thank you everyone who came in support of Violet @violetdanse in the space that has hosted the campers of @sunshineartspace. What a beautiful morning to be inspired by the mind of children and the wonderful art of Violet that came in the form of performance, installation, and interaction. It was a deep pleasure to work in this way and I’ve learn so much for this process. Looking forward to more between me and Violet. We make awesome stuff together ☀️ by @madellinevice

I’d like to thank and welcome, Violet Moon @violetdanse for being the first participant as the Artist-in-residence of the Sunshine House Residency. Combining arts education and art making in a short 2-week residency located @sunshineartspace in Montrose.

In residency, they are provided studio space and resources to create an immersive installation at the Museum District of Houston. Within Sunshine Artspace’s summer camp, they will integrate art curriculum that will act as a collaboration for their show.

Open Saturday, July 25th 11-2pm, please come by to see what Violet has been playing around with!

Introducing, The House.

For the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of being @sunshineartspace’s Artist in Residence. And in that time, I’ve been cooking in my feelings, hurting mostly, deciding how and what I want to share into this world. And from that, I made this.

In two weeks, with the help of @madellinevice and summer camp kids of @sunshineartspace, we will be turning a house in the museum district into: an immersive and interactive experience of the mind. (Caveat: As I know it)

All conditional selves we share, the dreams we hold tight, moments we’ve forgotten, ancestral patterns we carry, the things we’re working on, the secrets we keep, the repressed stories, suppressed memory, and discarded traits. The thread defining it, weaving it into one.

Through reflective art activities, thoughtful exploration, and understanding of ourselves — this is meant to be a moment to grieve into love, learn into relief, and experience the complexity of ourselves as more universal than the shame of the world teaches us.

More stories to come!

For now, enjoy the immense amount of time I spent making this ad. And treasured bliss of playing like I did as a kid. Camera work by my ever talented creative partner, @madellinevice. by @madellinevice

It was a real stinkin pleasure being the creator of this dress. Thank you @violetdanse for putting your trust in me. You really sparked the love I have for my sewing machine now. I can do these things now! It’s so incredible!!
And seeing my work move around and become artwork itself was magical. I can’t stop thinking about it. Just thank you. by @madellinevice
